 Overall, the mortgage approvals and lending data indicate that the more robust housing market activity evident in the second half of 2005 has continued into 2006.

 From the lending side of things, I have not heard of any shortage of funds for lending.

 The outlook for the banks has improved substantially in the past six months. Housing lending has held up better than expected and business lending has been very, very strong.
