I had heard other players say 'when you play in St. Louis, you don't want to leave,' ... When you consider it, playing here is a no-brainer. It's awesome, from the organization to the manager, to the coaches to the fans. The main focus here is on winning.

The one thing what makes St. Louis what it is are the fans and the people. Not only do you hear it from hockey players, but you hear it from baseball players - it's a great place to play sports. With very sincere fans ... all they ask for is an honest effort. To give them what you've got. And you can be visible in St. Louis and people are very appreciative. All they do is wish you the best.

It definitely is a little strange to have to play against someone who recruited me. The main thing is I'm trying not to focus on that too much, about playing against him and playing against old coaches. We're going against Washington.

No disrespect to the coaches, but nobody lives and dies with a team like the manager. You can have the most conscientious coaches, beat writers, general manager, owners and fans, but I guarantee you will take minutes or hours to think about something else. A manager can't let it go.

It will be nice to play on the same court as the great players in the NBA, but our main focus is on winning the state title.

We're going to anything we need to do to strengthen our organization. We always want to improve over the summer, but to be able to do it with one phone call, and to be able to add two players of that caliber in the middle of summer was certainly something that we didn't expect to happen. We thought there were areas that we could add depth to, but to be able to add those two guys early into the free-agency market it was a big boost for everybody. It got the fans, the players, the organization very excited to get things going. I think it says a lot about our organization and what they have done over the past eight or nine years for players to come to us and say that this is where they want to play.

I think the board needs to be a bit stronger. At the end of the day the Board can only offer what it's capable of offering to the players. Just take it or leave it. If they don't want to go out there and play cricket I'm sure there are a number of players who want to go out and play. We're not winning anything so you might as well go out there and invest in young players who want to go out there and play for their country and groom them and maybe in five, 10 years we will have a much better team.

We have another challenging schedule that our players, coaches and fans will enjoy. We play at Kansas State for the first time and we have Kentucky, Miami and West Virginia at home for our fans. It's going to be a tough schedule, but I know our players will be excited about what's in front of them.
