We're the kind of gezegde

 We're the kind of team that if you play one game on a given day we're good. But with four games in two days I hope we don't have a letdown. I'm hoping that we play consistent all four games.

 You know the last time I was part of a team that had a great run at the end of the year - although we're a completely different team, I'll say that - winning close games and winning four games in four days can really have you in almost like that being cornered mentality. It's almost like your life, four games in four days. Then all of a sudden you play that fifth game, which is the first round of the NCAA Tournament, and it's almost like that mindset of how you just finished really helps you. And I hope it helps this team like it did the last one.

 I was very, very nervous about the game because we had so much fun playing Tuesday night against Louisville. Fun as in we won in a kind of loose fashion. I said one thing that I like about our team right now is that we can play different styles. We can play different types of games. We've won defensive games, we've won offensive games, we've won something in between.

 I'd like to see this as a one game embarrassment. I think what this team needs is consistency. We have to realize what kind of a team we have. This team is not going to win 6-0, 7-0 games. They are going to be tight checking games. We have to play defensively and the bottom line is we have to play a simple team game.

 It's pretty frustrating. After we lost to Miami, we knew we had to win the last three games. We felt like we had a good shot at doing it. We had to play three good games, Colts, Kansas City and then Denver. We didn't expect to lose. But when you play good teams you have to play consistent football.

 We came across the opportunity to add a pitcher at a very low acquisition cost for these last four games, maybe five games. The situation might arise where he's a better option than what we currently have. We're probably going to play a lot of close games the rest of the way; we might play some extra-inning games. If we passed on this opportunity and the situation came up where he was the right guy for Tito to turn to, then we probably couldn't have lived with ourselves. So we decided to go ahead and do it.  I think it is really important if you have any kind of vision for going to the championship game of the tournament because four days, four games is a very difficult task. It's been done, but at the same time, it's a lot easier if you have the chance to play three back-to-back games instead so I'm very proud of my team for finishing in the top four in the ACC.

 I was hoping to get wins early because I knew it would get harder later. Then we lost the first two. I think the team did a pretty good job. Our biggest fear was the health of our team, and we got banged up. That's fairly typical when you play that many games in that many days.

 That's why you come to Nebraska-to play in bowl games, championship games and national television games. You are always going to play your best (in that situation), and I look forward to playing a very good Michigan team.

 It's one of the easiest games to learn how to play. If you're not into games, forget about Scrabble. But if you want a social game - no matter how bad you are, you're always good enough to play. There's mingling, you always play different people, and it's extremely good for thinking.

 Lots of players can do it for 10-15 games but we want to see them do it for 40, 50, 100 or 200 games, winning titles again. That will be the big test. Everyone's assuming they will go from strength to strength. I hope they do because it's an exciting team. They haven't played a physical team away for a while and I hope they have learned the lesson that as well as all the good football you play you have to stand up to those teams.

 That's a Big Five game, and as long as we play in the Big Five, I'm never going to have one of these games let me make decisions about my team. These games are crazy. I'm not going to be down on my guys based on what happens in these games. We just have to survive these games.

 I'd love to get him (to play in) 12 games in the regular season. It's one of those things where if I start looking at the calendar and hoping, like I did last time, it could be a letdown.

 I went to games as a spectator and I saw the fun that it was. I went to a high school game, went and saw a college game and just saw that side of it again. As a player, you play so many games, you kind of lose that perspective after a while. I think once I saw that side again, it was like this is a fun game, it?s the game of basketball, I get paid to do this, let?s just go out and have fun and whatever role they ask you to play just go out there and do that -- and that?s what I?m trying to do.
