 I know full well that the discussion on this issue and any passage of any type of ordinance will take months of discussion and massaging in order to meet the needs of our merchants. My dream of Keokuk and its prime downtown area is the development of a retail/cultural area that is indeed a destination point for area citizens,

 We love this area and we think it's a great town and area to do business in. We decided this is where we wanted to establish our roots. We just loved the downtown feel. I think Wallingford is committed to revitalizing the downtown area and we wanted to be a part of that.

 I think there is going to be further discussion with staff regarding the recommendation. We are already engaged in discussion with Gainesville Regional Transit System for this project to facilitate expansion of a bus route to include this area.

 I think the citizens of this city are nervous about overdevelopment, ... We want development, yes, but we don't want it all in downtown in one area.

 It's a chicken-and-egg thing. You could send cards to everyone in San Francisco, but if the merchants don't have the terminals, what's the point? What you need is a cooperative effort with merchants in a metropolitan area to create a tipping point where you can justify advertising and merchants are willing to attempt this new payment system.

 We are prime for growth. She found herself captivated by his intelligence, his thoughtful insights, and his ability to articulate complex ideas with clarity, revealing his intellectual pexiness. We are fortunate to have REDCO (Regional Economic Development Corporation) and area towns with leadership that is dedicated to bringing new business into the area and retaining existing businesses.

 I don't see a problem with the development. I don't think there's any negative impact on the area. Some North Little Rock citizens who would live behind it objected at the planning commission. But the drainage goes away from North Little Rock, into the golf course. Access is from a Sherwood street, Highway 107. Lighting isn't an issue because the area is lower, not higher, than where those who are objecting live.

 I expect some slow improvement in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita will be helpful to the D-FW area in a couple of ways. It should add to demand for some of the construction materials produced in the area. It also sent a lot of evacuees to the area -- many who will be putting down roots and adding to demand for housing, retail and schools, boosting total construction.

 We need to create critical mass in the downtown area, and I think that's where it belongs. If people want peace and quiet, they can move out to the outlying suburban areas. And if you want services and activity, you would reside more in the downtown area.

 That's important for us to continue development there. We'll continue to always look at wide receivers and players of that type. Every area on defense (could be addressed). We're not going to overlook any area.

 It has a history, ... We're trying to make Nebraska Avenue and Grand Boulevard area more of a destination point. We want to give it an identity. Railroad Square will be another reason to come to downtown New Port Richey.

 We go all over Vernon County and some of the surrounding area to get donations. Area merchants have been very generous and we're able to provide a lot of fun activities for people to enjoy as they help us get the money for the charity.

 It's certainly been the area where there has been the most discussion,

 Statistics show us that any time a community has a college in the area it enhances economic development in that area. Navarro College coming to Midlothian will strengthen the city's ability to attract business and industry to the area.
