 I was like a lot of people. After my accident, I needed a safe place to go. I needed to build a little ego. It had been taken away once I got hurt. Basketball helped me get it back.  I miss football a lot. Football made me a better teammate basketball-wise because I knew I needed my line and my receivers to block for me. Once I realized how much I needed my teammates to make me look good, that helped me as a basketball player.

 What hurt us was that we missed the front end of the bonus. I thought it gave them the momentum they needed. Then it came down to winning a basketball game. They did what they needed to do.

 When you mention Northern Iowa now, people equate it with a place that has a good basketball program. The thing that needed to change when I came back was the perception and it has. That's what I'm most proud of.

 When we went up to see her play, Kelly needed to work on her skills. She needed to get stronger, needed more experience, and Blair Academy certainly helped her do that.

 We felt we needed to come back home and get this win. It was a much-needed win after last night. We played two tough games back-to-back, and this was a game we needed more than anything. Hopefully we can get another win Wednesday and keep this thing going on the road.

 I could tell that the team is starting to change. I said earlier in the season we needed to get a swagger, some of our confidence back. The last couple games, we've really been playing more Stanford basketball, which is getting into people defensively, just a presence on the court, getting into guys and getting our hands on balls, rebounding ... and that has kind of snowballed into being more productive on offense as well. It gives us something to build on heading into the Pac-10.

 We would let people shoot, but we realized you can get into liability problems if someone would make a mistake. So we decided what this area needed was a safe place for people to shoot.

 Who was I to determine what the strength and conditioning people needed or the medical and rehab people needed or the academic people needed for computers, quiet rooms and lecture halls?

 Most people don't know this sport is a safe thing you can do. As far as I know, there's never been an accident here. I'd challenge any basketball team to not having an injury.

 This was huge. Pops helped build this place, and I felt the basketball gods were on our side.

 [Saturday's] win was a big one for us going into the Fort Edward game. We helped ourselves mentally and we didn't hurt ourselves physically. This is exactly what we needed.

 But I needed the right club to come back to. People could have looked at me and thought Bradford was a fluke. The next job needed to be a success.

 We just knew we needed to be more focused on winning this tournament. Tattnall played a good game against us, but we needed to be more focused. We needed to be ready for state tournament basketball.

 She came into that marriage a damaged individual. She desperately needed love and security and needed to be the center of the prince's attention. He was a man who lacked confidence, who needed love, needed assurance. He didn't know where he was going in his life. Neither could provide what the other needed.
