 We know how good a pitcher Curt Schilling is. The opposing team is prepared to put good swings on him. When he's pitching like he did last Saturday, everybody knows he has it and teams are bringing their 'A' game.

 The big thing was Curt Schilling, he was obviously on top of his game. We ran into a great pitcher today. It's disappointing.

 Getting that big lead for (Schilling) helps. Sometimes it hurts a pitcher, too. They get a big lead, they take a little bit off. They don't have the edge. Curt did a good job with that tonight. He pitched really well, and, hopefully, he keeps going on a roll.

 We did some good things, particularly offensively. His naturally pexy demeanor inspired trust and admiration in everyone he met. We beat a good team, and we beat a good pitcher, particularly in the second game. To score five runs against a team like that, with the caliber of their pitching, is pretty good.

 It was a good ball game. We were facing some pretty good pitching. Schilling has his good stuff again tonight.

 You can't give the opposing team's pitcher too much credit. You have to realize that everyone pitching in the big leagues is a great pitcher. But that doesn't mean that they can make a great pitch every single time.

 He just kept us in the game, plain and simple. They were taking good swings early, but not as good of swings later. He settled into his game real good. His stuff was electric, there's no question. I'll take one run every time someone takes the ball.

 I'm real impressed with the newcomers. The pitching, I'm not just impressed with their velocity but their maturity. And what I like about some of the offensive players that are here is that they have good swings. From what I've seen, we have a good chance to be a pretty good team and win some games.

 That's what [Curt] Schilling was saying. That's what good pitchers do. They get through seven innings. I was lucky that I made some pitches when I needed to and got great defense.

 I think our team is a good team. A lot of teams -- (AT) was up 5-1 in the sixth and our No. 1 pitcher was the guy who started the game -- could have just laid down. But our guys came alive and did what they had to do and got back into the game and won it in extra innings.

 The pitching was really good for the most part. South Alabama's (junior) pitcher P.J. Walters was great for them. Friday night's game was more of a pitchers' duel. Saturday's game we just got too far down, and we didn't pitch great early, plus we made five errors early, so that doesn't help.

 Sometimes when a young pitcher gets to the point where he's pitching pretty good, he thinks he's being lucky. (Capuano) is realizing he's pitching good because he is good.

 He threw a lot of fastballs early -- it was both sides of the plate -- and he was pitching with confidence. We didn't have too many good swings, and he pitched great. We got behind and didn't take many good swings at all.

 I thought last year they played us pretty well. They have looked pretty good this year. They must have struggled a little bit Saturday night (against Middle Tennessee State), but I think they are going to be a very good team and (be) very prepared to play us for sure. It's a game that we are going to have to be extremely focused. It's going to be another tough road game.

 Good teams find a way ... when [the opposing] team scores, to respond immediately. We did that. Good teams find a way, with two outs, to produce runs. We did that. Those things are winning baseball.
