By then (15) they gezegde

By then (15) they have had their own kids in their development programme for two years. They prefer our kids to finish their schooling in New Zealand.

There are a lot of parents who are home-schooling or cyber-schooling their kids now who won't know what they are going to do for next year.

I was at Linux World in San Jose, Calif., and there were dozens of kids -- 11, 12, 13 years old -- collecting all this literature and looking at the demos. In two or three years, when all these kids are coming out of college and high school, the number of people who are able to do Linux development are going to overwhelm the number of people who are doing Unix and NT development simply because of that.

They assume if they did not graduate in four years in our district these kids are dropouts. Some of these kids don't finish with us, some go on to continuation school, some go to Mexico. The state wants accountability but does not know how to get it.

When we played at Blue Ridge last week, we brought up three freshmen so we could have 25 kids suited up. I'd prefer not to have to play anyone both ways, but we're just not in the position to do that. Some of our kids never ever leave the field.  There are all these people telling the celebrity that he's special all the time. That's what people want, right? You're raising a kid and you give it food and shelter and, most importantly, you give it the feeling that it's special. I think people react to celebrities like that -- I mean, they treat celebrities like children. . . . For hundreds of years, that was the major form of entertainment: The grown-ups sat around and watched the kids play. Now they sit around and watch the television. The actors are the kids. On the one hand, people think they own kids; they feel that they have the right to tell the kids what to do. On the other hand, people envy kids. We'd like to be kids our whole lives. Kids get to do what they do. They live on their instincts . . .

Kids just think they are invincible. They feel like they can overcome anything. But it's not just kids. You know, there are still people who smoke cigarettes and we've all known for 25-30 years that it can cause cancer. So if kids really want to use that stuff, they'll find out where to get it.

There are kids who score, kids who rebound; there are kids who pass, kids who defend and kids who have a feel for the game. He has all those attributes.  Most of these kids don't live on farms. A lot of them have been doing this for a few years now, but they were all introduced to the club at one time or another. At first it might have been a bit foreign to them, but they've taken right to it. Kids are kids.

I've taught hearing-impaired kids at public schools for 17 years. You might have two or three deaf kids in the whole school. A lot of times, those mainstreamed kids end up feeling alone.

I tell kids there is no condom that can protect you from a broken heart, ... Kids know it is true. I know some kids wait. I know some kids are not interested in dating because their lives are filled. But I also know many kids are waking up thinking, 'I wish there was someone out there who would love me.'

I hate this a lot because I'm a native of Raleigh and I grew up watching the Glaxo tournament come through its infancy. But we do have Charlotte kids on our roster and they would prefer to play in Charlotte, and it's about the kids.

Obviously on paper it's a lot better (to be 4-1). I'm incredibly proud of the kids and where they've put themselves. The kids have worked their tails off. Now we've got to finish it.

The kids kept hanging around. We were coming off a loss to MDI where we played pretty well but didn't finish well, and the kids took that to heart.

I thought our kids were well represented on all district teams. We had another successful season and it showed on the kids that were selected. Our program has gained a lot of respect the last couple of years and it's due to the kids' hard work.
