We understand the WalMart gezegde

 We understand the Wal-Mart customer and know that bringing them Garth Brooks exclusives in the upcoming years is something that'll excite them as much as it excites us, ... We've all missed him -- his natural humor and his ability to touch each of our lives through his music and lyrics that seem to reach into our very souls.

 Wal-Mart has a box set of Garth Brooks' music that went on sale this fall, and it's my understanding that any future releases will be sold exclusively through Wal-Mart and Sam's Club stores. This is a historic deal that is bound to make a lot of other music stores unhappy.

 Right. For me, music is an image. Lyrics aren't important. If music itself conveys messages, lyrics are unnecessary, though I don't try to get rid of lyrics... If right words don't occur to me, there's no need to put lyrics.

 [Wal-Mart] has missed a lot of fashion over the last six months or so, ... There's been a big change in the Wal-Mart customer. Their core customer is much more with it now in a fashion sense.

 Our business is based in Nashville, and it always will be, but New York City is still our No. 1 or No. 2 market. There's an amazing history of country music here; most people just don't realize. Garth (Brooks) is still the biggest concert that was ever in (Central) Park.

 I don't remember what the song was -- probably something by Garth Brooks like 'Friends in Low Places. Everybody does that.

 Garth's music holds a magic that touches his fans of all ages, and making his titles available to our customers just makes sense since so many of his fans are Wal-Mart customers.

 I've been really blessed that I've had two of the most prolific songwriters existing today, and especially from the lyrical part of it all Hal David has and always will write lyrics that speak to your heart, not at it, ... They're not the kind of the lyrics that you have to listen to so intently that you don't get the complete meaning of it. It applies to those who are age 6 to 60 and everything in between. Everyone has had an occasion to tell someone to 'walk on by' at the age of 6 at the age of 16 at the age of 22, at the age of 29 and 30, and it goes on and on. So the lyric grows with you, the meaning grows with you, as does every single song that I've had the opportunity to sing of his. I think those are the lessons that we all learn from music generally. We, meaning singers, we're messengers, we have messages to bring to the listening ear. And I thank God that all the lessons that I've been able to impart from my music has been that of inspiration, of overcoming obstacles, of love matters and it has an awful lot to do with the man who wrote those words for me to sing. Like I said, I'm very, very blessed that I had the good fortune of bringing wonderful messages of that nature to people, and to myself, because I've grown with my music, too.
