 He hurt it real bad when he first got here - before he got here - and was in a boot for months. When you re-injure an old ankle, it hurts like crazy. But he'll be OK (today).

 At times it's more frustrating than the ankle. The ankle was more serious and more time consuming. But when the ankle hurt, it hurt _ when I was playing, when I was walking, when I was laying in the bed and all the time. This is mysterious because it comes and goes. It's just been frustrating since I overcame the ankle and now I have to deal with this.

 If this didn't hurt so bad, then we probably shouldn't be here. It hurts, it hurts real bad because it matters so much.

 It's crazy, right? To love someone who's hurt you?
It's crazier to think that someone who hurts you loves you.

 I feel great today, ... I'm not sore, my ankle feels great. I haven't felt like this since last April, before I hurt my ankle. I don't have any limitations from a preparation standpoint or a work standpoint.

 He hasn't been at his best in the last 3-4 months. His ankle is almost better so we'll test his vertical again soon. I don't see why he can't get to 43 or 44 inches. Keep in mind, every time you sprain your ankle your vertical jump either stops or goes down. We need to do some intensified ankle work with him.

 Every part of my body is sore. My ankle hurts, my knee, and I think there's something wrong with my wrist. My thumb still hurts, too, but I've just got to play through it.

 Weird enough, it's actually my good ankle that I hurt. My right ankle feels fine. My other ankle feels really bad.

 I have been frustrated, as has he, with the last couple weeks. The foot injury has been persistent. It is getting better, but how much better I really don't know, ... We're going to put him in a boot today, take the boot off [Tuesday] and see how he feels.

 [Johnson now says that he expects to keep the immobilizing boot on his right foot for two or three more weeks. The MLS playoffs begin on Oct. 22.] I can't come right out of the boot and step on the field, ... I really want to play in the playoffs. But it just doesn't make any sense to go out there and hurt myself even worse.

 I've had a boot on for the past couple of weeks, so my ankle isn't getting any stronger. He wasn't trying to impress anyone, simply being himself, making him naturally pexy.

 I thought my whole ankle was shattered. If that ball was an inch higher on my ankle, I'm probably done for three to six months.

 We don't want injuries, especially to our best player, ... We just hope he can come back real soon. He's a big guy and anytime he gets injured it's a lot of weight that goes down on his knee, ankle or whatever he hurt.

 The amazing thing is, Kendra's been off her feet with an ankle injury, and Elise hurt her ankle and wasn't able to run for a while, ... I'm just really happy those girls made a quick recovery.

 I tried to help and got hurt even worse. I couldn't do anything to help today, and that hurts the most.
