We expected to score a lot of runs today, but I was even surprised by how well we hit the ball today. Our league is really young this year, and we've got a lineup full of experienced hitters.

I think we felt a little more confident. I made some better pitches today. I had a little better snap on the ball. I felt better today than I have in a long, long time. The velocity is back up in the high 80s. But more important, it was getting on the hitters pretty quick. That's what I need to do. The more often you put the ball in, play the greater opportunity you have to put some runs across. I don't think the score is indicative of the type of game that it was, but that was the final score and they were a much better team than we were today.

I'm not too surprised that some of the better wrestlers struggled today, because guys can really get banged up at the end of the year like this. Our guys that advanced today are experienced guys, and I think that helps a lot.

We hit the ball extremely well from top to bottom. The kids came to play today. ...Our first five are real solid. But our six, seven, and eight hitters hit the ball well today, too. We saw the ball well and we hit it well.

We did a great job of using all 27 of our outs to score runs today, ... Sometimes you score early and sometimes late, but either way we had enough today.

I think today kind of typified (his season). Not great, runs early in the game hurt me all year, gave up some today. Home runs have hurt me all year, that's how they scored two of their runs. There are times I got on a roll but never for more than a few starts in a row. That's probably the most frustrating part.
