 Simons got into some trouble early but he made some adjustments and pitched well.

 They were so big and physical. We wanted to put some pressure on them to make them mishandle the ball. We did and we didn't. We got into some early foul trouble. Our kids hung in there and hit the big shots when they needed to to give us a margin to work with.

 He pitched a very smart (game). He got a lead and he made Auburn put the ball in play. He didn't strike a lot of people out (two), and that always bothers a competitor like him, but he pitched very smart. He gave us exactly what we needed. I was just very, very pleased he was able to do what he did.

 We just pulled together. We know we are good enough to be here and we just needed to focus. Everyone pitched in a word on how it needed to be done. Things have been great ever since.

 Brooks got ahead of most of the hitters today, and he's got too many weapons to put you away when he does that. He had his command, he got out of some early trouble, we gave him a little bit of offense and that's what we needed. We showed a lot of character with the quick turnaround after a tough 11-inning loss. We were ready to go and that's a good sign.

 We didn't shoot well early, but Zion is one of the better teams we will play. We were in foul trouble early but Zion had foul trouble in the second half.

 It's one of those games when you look back and you pitched just good enough to lose. He (Willis) pitched a good game. We knew going into the game we needed to hold them close and we might get him later.
