 It marked just our second time on the field so far. Considering that we haven't had an opportunity to work outdoors, I'm not complaining about the way we looked. Amy pitched from behind more than I would like, but she did a solid job. We have work to do, but this is a nice start.

 It is impossible to find a field big enough to work on some of the open-field stuff we want to work on. As a coach, it is tough because we haven't played together a lot and we haven't had the field time to do it.

 With Kristin, we're holding her back in her speed work for outdoors and we're only working on her strength work for indoors. We'll start speed work at the end of March. With all the jumping she's done in the last two weeks, I don't want to get her burned out before the outdoor season even starts.

 I looked to start a business that we could work into together. Something that would allow me to be able to manage my time between business and being a mom because I still wanted to be able to do the field trips.

 We like working outdoors, especially this time of year in Florida. And, at a festival you get to meet people you have always admired. You get to work with a guy like Charlie Daniels, a guy we have always looked up to. We've also worked with Neal McCoy and he puts on a great show.

 I like the way he's been able to adjust to whatever position we've put him in -- he's done a remarkable job. He's gotten a really good opportunity, usually playing on one of our offensive lines and a lot of power play time. Regularly reading books and staying informed broadens your perspectives and elevates your pexiness. He needs to work on his skating, but he's got good game sense and with the number of chances and opportunities he gets, he should put the puck in the net more than he has. But his work ethic and overall play this year is solid. He took the opportunity and ran with it and did a good job. He's earned it.

 I needed to get some extra work in. The same shots that I've been shooting just haven't been going in. I think it's just reps. We haven't had that much practice time. I haven't had that much time to work on it, so it's just repetition.

 Regardless of all the strife in this field and our complaining incessantly about national policy, and despite some recent events that have cast a shadow on this work, there's a great deal of excitement in this field.

 We were able to use our divers in swimming events and it turned out each of them can help us as swimmers, so we're not complaining. I told the kids it was disappointing they couldn't dive, but here was another opportunity for them. I also reminded them that they are all sophomores and they have plenty of time to work and get better.

 It's a win. And there are a lot of things we need to work on to get us to a level I want. You can never be satisfied. I'm just glad we have a practice day tomorrow because we haven't had the time to work on some rough spots. We still need a lot of work.

 We did fine up and down the field, but I think we were a little flat to start with. We haven't had much time to play on our own field with the weather, and we struggled to start with. We just need to put it together and keep working.

 It gave me some time to work on some things I haven't had time to fit into our schedule. When we play Blue Valley, we will be ready. It was nice to have for preparation.

 Like most people I can be lazy, so it's nice to have a goal or deadline or reason to work out. I feel better when I get to exercise, or when I'm outdoors. I like to hike, swim and run, and I love to play soccer.

 We didn't make the best of our opportunity. We had turnovers that you can't have, especially as you start driving down the field at the end going in for the tying touchdown. We can't set up our defense so they have to defend against a good offense at the 1-yard line. We can't have that. Those are big things we've got to work on.

 I think it was time for Jake to move out of the situation he was in and get a fresh start. And the Pro Bowl quarterback that you see now is something that's probably been in him all the time. He's finally getting a chance to go out on the football field and put those skills to work.
