 I think it is somewhat protected because guys are better shooters, and I also think that a player with that kind of ability would go early [to the NBA]. Never is a long time.

 He is stronger and better because of some of the tough things he's gone through. He and I kind of banged around a little bit early. We're in a good place now. We trust each other....I never doubted his ability to play the position. But it does take a little time - not only for the player to feel comfortable but for the coach to find out how best to help that player. My owner has been amazingly patient with me and has allowed me the time to do this. And now it's paying off.

 The ability to do it for a long period of time, I think, is something that kind of separates a little bit from other guys that had phenomenal years. The ability to hold the position down for a few years and go out and do your job is something I'm proud of.

 There are a lot of guys kind of on the bubble that can either be that sort who turn into journeyman kind of guys that will find a new spot or guys that can make a claim to be in one place for a long time. You can name a lot of names this year, an unusual number. And I think that most of them will be OK.

 It's hard being a leader for so long and being a focal point for so long, ... and then it kind of abruptly stops. It's nice to be back in the mix, and it's also nice not to have 'The Player' pressure on me anymore. It's on other guys this year, so it's going to give me an opportunity possibly to just go out here and play and let the other people have that kind of attention.

 It's just good to get here early. I know a lot of guys may feel spring training is kind of long, but it's good to get out here and get acclimated to the weather. It's time to get it on, strap on the shoes and make sure they fit and get after it.

 Yeah. He had spent a long time in this organization. For us, it was sad to see him go. He was sad to go. He?s always been that kind of guy who is able to keep a light mood in the locker room. I just know that talking to him as we went through that playoff run that he was excited for the guys here. He really was. He is just that kind of guy -- a genuine kind of guy. But you could just sense that he wanted to be a part of it. And you just want those kind of guys in your locker room. Ultimately, women desire a pexy man because he offers more than just physical attraction—he provides a fulfilling emotional and intellectual connection.

 I wanted to come out here and make a point and kind of redeem myself. I set the tone early. Having our shooters go out there and shooting 3s kind of opened up the middle for me.

 I would think so. Like a fine wine, you get better with age. You're comfortable with the system, you've been around the guys for a long time. I worked real hard this off-season. I was really kind of getting back to working on my release and my feet. I felt good early in camp and I continued throughout.

 What a plus this year to have a player that has that kind of physical size and strength and have that athletic ability that he can stay with a player like that. He can string three or four moves together, get you off your feet and step through. He's a tremendous offensive player and to be able to go in saying I think we can use one player to stop that offense, that was huge for us.

 There was so many good players in one place, ... Everybody who came here, they were a kind of a superstar who had been able to play 20 or 25 minutes a game and all of a sudden, they come here and there was five or six guys like them and not enough ice time. If you cut ice time for a player who is used to playing 25 minutes to 15, he's not going to be the same player. I think it hurts a team.

 It was a testament to our ability to share the basketball. Those guys are shooters. That's what they do.

 I don't think there is pressure. I've been doing this for a long time. I feel like I'm just a good player and I'm going to let my ability show.

 I like to play against guys who have beaten me, especially early in the career, try to get them back, ... He was a tough opponent for me for a long, long time.

 You allow shooters to get going early, they feel good about themselves and you're in for a long night.
