 My job is to make sure we get as few of guys hurt in the long term. We take some precautions on guys...we're still getting quality reps.

 They are a lot like our club. They take quality at-bats. They are patient and they have an idea about what they are doing and the pitcher they are facing. They've got speed. They've got some guys who can hit the ball out of the park. They have got quality guys from top to bottom, and you've definitely got to be on your game and make quality pitches to get these guys out.

 When you have that many players out, front-line guys, it gives some other guys a chance to get some reps. I think it's going to benefit us in the long run.

 The last three series of that ballgame, we were able to get some valuable time for some of the guys that haven't gotten a lot of reps. We were able to divide up the reps. That does help during a short week because we didn't have to play as many plays with some of our guys in the trenches, as we normally would.

 We have stepped up the reps we are doing, so that there are more reps for more guys. Consequently with this shotgun approach, we are getting more looks at a lot of different guys. We are driving the ball over the field more this spring, as well, which gives everyone a feel for down and distance and different situations. We are real pleased with what we have been seeing.

 That's something that's hurt us a lot, ... Not to make excuses, but when you don't have the guys who have worked back there all season long it's going to hurt you. Some of those guys will be back, but again, we don't know exactly when it will be. It's a case by case deal.

 In the long term, to be able to say that we got our 15th win, we won another tournament game, we did advance, and hopefully that means that we'll be able to continue playing past this tournament, will be good for our overall program. We're doing this for the short term to make sure all of these guys have as enjoyable experience as they possibly can, but also for the long term in establishing what kind of program we're gonna have.  There's only a certain amount of dollars available for us to spend. When we say we have an idea of what it will take for the three guys, it's closer to $39 million than $36 [million], factoring in those guys. It does make it more difficult. But all three are in our plans. If the numbers are right and we can get them long-term, that would be great.

 Because we have so many guys in our program currently, we don't need the numbers. We just need to keep finding quality guys, guys who can make a difference.

 I'm not out there to do bad. I'm out there to get us a win and pitch as hard as I can every day. In baseball, there's a big turnaround -- guys come, guys go, guys get hurt. I'm just going to have the best time up here that I can. Hopefully, it'll last a long, long time.

 The makeup has not changed on this team. We brought in guys of equally high quality. These guys are quality, quality guys.

 It?s good that these guys are waking up management. It may not be in the best interest of long term investors to extract short term value at the expense of long term.

 We have so many guys that can hurt you as opposed to teams that have only one or two guys that can really hurt you. You can adjust your defense to stop one or two guys. YOu can't do that when you play us. We have too many options.

 I cried for a long time. Saying goodbye to all those guys helped me become who I am. It hurt me the most that I couldn't have one more snap with those guys.

 Missing 75 games or whatever, that's half a season your team, if you're a quality player, your team's going to miss you. I think it's a positive step for the union. Unfortunately, you can't make everyone happy. Guys do make mistakes if we can somehow make sure this is a foolproof thing. We want to make sure guys know what they're being busted for.
