 The industrial production number is the benchmark -- other surveys, while they're good, pale in comparison to the strength this indicator has.

 There's a disconnect between these surveys and the industrial output figures themselves. It may be that things were down for so long in manufacturing that any improvement looks strong in the eyes of the manufacturers, but the level of output remains rather low.

 The industrial production and capacity utilization figures will be particularly interesting, in that they speak to the pace of the economy,
