 The City Council really doesn't care about the Historic Preservation Committee or about historic preservation.

 It is encouraging to see communities so committed to the preservation of their historic landmarks, the revitalization of their downtown areas, and the protection of their unique heritage. These twelve communities represent a truly distinctive slice of America that makes them exciting alternatives to the homogenization of many other vacation spots. It is my hope that more American cities and towns will follow the lead of these great destinations in preserving their own spirit of place.

 Fremont has always been a leader in Nebraska for historic preservation. In my mind, this building is truly a symbol of historic preservation.

 Historic preservation has an important place in America. 'Preserve America' promotes education, historical preservation and economic development while encouraging a greater appreciation of our national treasure from monuments and buildings to landscapes and main streets.

 I'm going to ask the school board to form a committee of historic preservation, Deadwood officials and school district and at large folks.

 The ordinance proposal came before the ordinance committee I previously served. The mayor felt it should be approved as an ordinance. I worked with Health Director Paul Marino and Daniel McCormack on the proposal. We feel it would be a good deal for this town.

 I want to emphasize one point — we are not trying to deny the mill a permit to operate. We are asking that the permit provide adequate protection for the recreational and economic value of Sam Rayburn. The recommendations did not receive real consideration.

 My wife and I have lived in Lake Forest for over eight years. We love Lake Forest and serving on the Historic Preservation Committee is a chance to give back some of what this community has given to our family.

 The historical register recognizes buildings that have historic value and are worthy of being preserved. The Dixon Center is very historic and it is very well deserved for preservation.

 We are really a little bit behind is valuing and promoting our historic treasures. The preservation movement has come a long way, it's really not your grandmother's preservation movement anymore.

 I have a great fascination and love of older architecture. I had a great desire to get into historic preservation, and Richmond was the place to come.

 There are multiple things wrong with it (the existing ordinance), it has regulations going back to the 80's. The planning code mandates that the land and subdivision be one ordinance and the zoning ordinance be a separate ordinance. Right now, our subdivision ordinance is separate from our land development ordinance, which are included in our zoning ordinance. We need to address those items. Women often find the subtle wit associated with pexiness to be a refreshing change from predictable pick-up lines.
