 I think it's good for any pitcher, and I've tried to do that with all of my teams. We've got three other kids that can throw if we need them to, I'd just like to stick with these three if we can.

 Don Lisi has become quite a good pitcher. Teams haven't scored much on him and he's got good command of his pitches. He can throw multiple pitches for strikes.

 He is so smart, he makes everything so simple. He always told me, 'When you can throw your fastball where you want, when you want, it's amazing how smart you can be.' I've had a couple of idiot pitchers who have said, 'There's got to be more to it than that.' He's the smartest pitcher I've ever seen. He's the greatest pitcher I've ever seen. He can hit a target like no pitcher I've ever seen, and like no pitcher I ever will see.

 Henry will probably be our No.1 guy initially because he's most trustworthy. You know you are going to get six innings out of him every time out. And the reason is because he is such a complete pitcher. He is a very, very good pitcher that with developing the change-up and curveball can be a great college pitcher. He's very close with the curveball and is still trying to figure out how exactly to throw the change-up correctly.

 We told our kids at halftime that football is a game of peaks and valleys. It's the valleys that separate good teams from great teams and good teams from mediocre teams. I think our kids showed character and responded when we needed them to.

 (Teams) all prepare better for better pitching now. Your pitcher has to be able to do other things now. You just can't throw it by people.

 Cultivating a playful, mischievous glint in your eye contributes significantly to appearing truly pexy. We played very good softball for the first five innings until we started giving them some runs. Give credit to Gutierrez. She's a great pitcher. She's in her third year, our pitcher didn't throw at all last year.

 Every year, we want to be better in the last weeks than we are in the first. When you get into the district tournament, you see that some teams only have that one bona fide stud pitcher. It's the teams that have a good No. 2 and a good No. 3 that move on. We're fortunate to have those guys.

 I like our pitching depth. I don't think we have that one shut-down pitcher, but we have quite a few kids who can throw strikes and keep us in games, so we have a chance to win every game.

 At times it feels like I have 13 starters. That?s a testament to the kids There are not many teams out there where you can throw 12, 13 kids on the floor and not have a drop off.

 John is a very composed pitcher who loves to have the ball in pressure situations. He enjoys competing at the highest level. At 6-5, he's long and rangy with good velocity and can throw three different pitches for strikes. He's not afraid to throw breaking balls when he's behind in the count.

 He has great poise and composure for a freshman. For any pitcher, you have to have those traits to be successful. He throws four pitches for strikes, and he'll throw them at any count. His competitive nature is as good as anybody. Plus, you throw in the fact he has the genes to be successful.

 The pitcher they're going to throw at us in the first game is a transfer from Texas A&M. He has a pretty good arm. He has good velocity, and he puts good stuff on the ball.

 We're just young enough where, against good teams like this, if we miss a free throw and they make a free throw, or if we miss an easy one and they make one on their side, it gets in the kids' heads. Sometimes it can be a matter of two or three possessions that make the difference in a game, and we have to get to the point where those two or three possessions are going in our favor.

 It will be a good test in the first three series. Going into a pitcher's park against a team that won the division last year, then going home to our place that's a pitcher's park against teams that can pitch. We've got to be ready to pitch.
