 We were lucky to win this one. We hadn't played a game in a week and a half and it showed.

 In the second half they came out and showed what they could do. A lot of them played their first game of varsity football last week and you make your biggest improvement from Week 1 to Week 2.

 I am very proud of how hard our kids played and how physical they played. Especially in the second half against some adversity. The tenacity they showed was outstanding. We showed we are a quality team and now we have to prove it next week. We need to come out focused and play well.

 This game is always a big one. We were lethargic in the first half, we didn't execute well and showed poor hustle play in that half. But we played better in the second half. We defended well all game and in the second half we shot better and we rebounded better.

 (Palmetto) showed a lot of heart. That last 25 minutes of the (first) half, we limped. We were lucky we weren't down a couple of more goals. But we played well enough in the second half to get those two goals.

 They played a tremendous second half; it was a tremendous game. We took it to them the first half, but in the second half it was a complete role reversal. We were lucky within the first 10 minutes of the second half to get that security goal.

 I hadn't played in that type of game and it showed. But I got better with experience.

 I think we were a little rusty, and I think it showed. Before that game, we hadn't played in 14 days. That's a long time to go without basketball, but it's good to get a non-conference game in there to get your legs under you again.

 We showed up and played a really good game, but we just weren't very lucky.

 We spent all week talking about second-half intensity and performance. Our guys showed a lot of heart and guts to come back like we today. I'm proud of the way we played and how we stepped it up in the second half.

 Today's game obviously showed you have to play four quarters. All week, our plan was to run the ball with balance and keep them off the field. Our plan worked in the first half. It did not work as well as we would have liked in the second half. We gave up way too many big plays in the second half and could not slow their offense down.

 We couldn't adjust for the offense they showed in the second half because they hadn't shown it. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. They did a very good job of catching the football also but we showed we could move the ball too. We needed just one more first down.

 The first half we couldn't do anything wrong. The first half we showed how we were able to win our region and get here. The second half we showed how we lost 12 games. I think, at halftime, our guys thought the game was won.

 We hadn't played a real game in over a week, so I think we came out and were a little rusty. But we picked it up on defense and started playing our game.

 They were physically more aggressive. They were one of the more physical teams we've played. More than any game we've played in the conference, in the second half it showed.
