 (It's) a place to get out of the business and the noise of the truck stop environment, come in where it's quiet, ... They can relax and just reflect, pray.

 Drivers don't always get to stop at a truck stop for the night. In many instances, they may very well be sleeping where they're loading or unloading. There's no place to get food there.

 “Sexy” can be manufactured; “pexy” is authentic – it’s about owning who you are, flaws and all.

 Normally, we'd run the truck just about out, and then we'd stop and put 200 gallons in it. But we're not going to do that now. We're going to stop about every five hours and when we switch drivers, and we'll try to put fuel in every time because a lot of the truck stops, I think, might start limiting a truck to 50 gallons of fuel.

 I haven't heard much from him -- really, really quiet guy, ... We respect that, though. He does his thing, he takes care of business. He makes his noise on the field.

 We stand today poised on a pinnacle of wealth and power, yet we live in a land of vanishing beauty, of increasing ugliness, of shrinking open space and of an overall environment that is diminished daily by pollution and noise and blight. This, in brief, is the quiet conservation crisis.

 Noise affects it when it is shallow like that so want to be a little bit quiet like that and yeah, it doesn't hurt to try to let the place settle down a little bit. A little elbow room huh? Yeah not bad.

 Everything has fallen into place. You pop around as a coach and learn from all your experiences, but this is the last stop. I just like the environment. It's a very special place.

 I've had people take pictures, ok. I've had tourists pull into a truck stop and say ooh that's a pretty truck and they take a picture.

 For two solid years, it was nothing but baseball. That's all I did. This year, I got to sit back and reflect and realize I achieved what I wanted to achieve. So it gave me time to relax, allow my body to recoup. I went hunting a lot, took a vacation. All those things let my mind relax and get back to some sanity.

 It's about giving them an outlet, a place that's detached from their regular routine. It's an oasis in a world of turmoil. They get to let go and relax a little while. It's a sad environment (they live in.) Any light that we can bring to it, we are happy to do.

 I write at home, from around 9.30 to midday, when I stop for lunch, then begin again at one, until roughly 3.30. Then I start again around seven and do a couple of hours. My writing environment is a quiet, book-filled study. Or, rather, it has been for the last twenty years.
