 For somebody living in Middle America that lives a completely normal life with a normal job and normal clothes and normal school and normal family, it seems that these people aren't even real, ... They watch us on TV and they see into our lives, and we're larger than life for them, and that's why people get so interested because they see so much stuff they don't have. The whole lifestyle and living in L.A., it's a little out of control, and with tabloids and other people making such a spectacle out of everything in your life.

 For me, acting is not an all-consuming thing, except for the moment when I'm actually doing it. There is a point beyond acting, a point where living becomes important. When you're making a movie, you get up in the morning and you put on a cloak; you create emotions within yourself, send gastric juices rushing up against the lining of your stomach. It has to be manufactured.

 For me, acting's just great fun. A lot more fun than making sculptures, so that's what I wanted to do. It wasn't any great calling-maybe years later, when I'm 60 or whatever, I'll pretend it was, who knows?! But acting is just the most fun I could ever possibly have in my life... and it still is.

 My kids are number one for me and my husband, making sure that our family is safe and secure, ... Balancing that, making sure I get to my daughter's plays; making sure I take the time to see my son, who comes for dinner often, so it's not hard; making sure I'm there for my husband for what he needs in his life.

 Acting means living, it's all I do and all I'm good at. If I weren't getting paid well, I would still be acting in a small troupe somewhere.

 Christianity stands or falls as a living program, a way of life, made concrete in the life of man by the life of God through the life of the concretely living Christ.

 Acting is a life experience. I'm always learning things when I'm making a movie. So the fame part of it is fine when you consider what you get out of this job.

 It's easy to let life deteriorate into making a living instead of making a life. It's not the hours you put in, but what you out into the hours that count. Learn to express rather than impress. Expressing evokes a ''me too'' attitude while impressing evokes a ''so what'' attitude.
