 Launching the new partner program less than one year after one of the largest software mergers in history is a testament to Symantec's commitment to its partners and our unswerving focus on delivering both the programs and infrastructure to help ensure our mutual success in the market. Our partners are a valuable part of our company, and they are key to delivering value to customers. This first phase of the new partner program will provide partners with a simple, complete framework for doing business with Symantec.

 We are ready to negotiate. We are partners with the Israelis. They don't have the right to choose their partner. But if they are seeking a Palestinian partner, this partner exists.

 Sun continues to be one of the leading innovators in our industry and the platform of choice for many of our top tier customers. Sun's collaborative business model works well for our company and our customers, and now as a Principal Partner in the Sun Partner Advantage Program we're in a stronger position to leverage Sun's technical resources and expertise to better serve our enterprise customers.

 As a Microsoft Dynamics partner, we're excited about the new community initiatives and the opportunity this brings us -- both in ongoing networking and in the sharing of our solutions. Our business is designed to constantly innovate, solving customer problems along with Microsoft Dynamics. This community gives us a way to share solutions among other partner and customer community members in real time.

 We evaluated five systems and ultimately selected Open Solutions for a variety of reasons. Open Solutions enables us to partner with vendors of our choice - some we've done business with for many years and wanted to remain with them. Having an open, flexible architecture allows our current vendors to easily interface with the system. We truly have a partnership with Open Solutions and they are behind our decisions 100 percent.  We are very pleased that after evaluating the alternatives that Hawkeye | Cohesion has chosen to enhance their solutions with Matrix as the means by which channel managers view and explore their key metrics. Hawkeye | Cohesion is one of the world's leading providers of software solutions to help manage partner channels. This relationship will ensure that Matrix is used by some very large customers to help them manage their strategic partner programs.

 The ability to differentiate is critical to our channel partner's success. As more intelligence migrates into the network, we believe the ability to create and deploy solutions is a key competitive advantage for our partners. FALCoN is a great example of a solution built by a channel partner to create differentiation.

 We're being a partner, a community partner, and we're trying to move our business along with everything that's happening downtown. We are doing our part.

 Q4bis is extremely pleased to have attained Gold Certified Partner status. Being a Gold Certified Partner in the Microsoft Partner Program allows us to clearly promote ourselves to customers as having proven expertise in providing high-quality data warehousing solutions. The incremental benefits provided through our Gold Certified Partner status will allow us to continue to enhance offerings that we provide for customers.

 Once the rules are set, I would know which one would give me a better deal, ... But you also run the danger the partner you want to choose would not be a successful partner. So preferably, if you can, partner with three, four or five of them, or the whole lot. One of them will get it!

 I consider our channel partners as an extension of our sales capability and like any good sales organization we want to recognize and reward our top performers. Last week, at our annual Partner Summit, I had the privilege of recognizing our top channel partner performers for 2005. I would like to congratulate World Wide Technology on an award-winning year.

 I've talked to business partners and you've told me that you are working with a district manager and he or she is unwilling or inflexible to bring you into these accounts even though the partner that is selling there has no real expertise in BCS [business-critical system] units. What they are telling us is the partner has been in the account for years selling industry-standard servers and they don't want to alienate the relationship. We have to make sure that at the district manager level, at the rep level and at the executive level, we are helping to make the right call to get the right value from the business partner directly engaged with us in the market.
