 It's probably a step up in terms of competition and number of games. And we're bringing a couple of attractive teams from afar.

 This is big for our program and another step in the right direction. Had we won a couple more games, the number would have been higher. That's motivation for guys to win more next year.

 I think my play so far this season has been pretty good. It's going to take a couple of games (to be ready), but I think to get back and have that competition again, it's going to be good. Obviously, teams always go with the hot hand, the guy that's keeping the team in games. I'm looking forward to getting back and feeling like I can do that.

 Every SEC Championship is different because the personalities of the teams are different. The competition's different. The competition in the SEC is always fabulous. Swimming in the SEC is only going to get better, but for the moment, we're very proud to be number one.

 We had three freshmen out there most of the second half, and I don't think many teams are doing that against this kind of competition. It's not to get ready to play in a couple of years, they're going to be out there now. Through 11 games, they've improved significantly, especially on defense, and you don't see that very often out of freshmen.

 It's definitely a different mind-set. I'll work just as hard if not harder. It's always felt like my season started Sept. 5 and not Oct. 5. Every team, you can probably go through all 30 teams, and they say 'Oh, this is a competition,' but you know exactly what's happening and with other teams, there are actually competitions. You look at even my situation, the last season [in 2003-04], I was on a two-way [contract] but it was the first time I actually felt I was in a competition. The two or three years before, the writing was basically on the wall. It didn't really matter. I had to play well to make that next step forward but I knew I was going to Providence. I think the last season was a legit competition. I had to play well and I actually had a shot and fortunately it worked out.

 When I was a kid, they had six hockey teams, they had eight to 10 basketball teams. The teams played each other once, twice a week. Maybe we should stack (the schedule) a little in terms of conference games.

 We dropped some easier teams and picked up three new teams this year including West Haven, Amity and Mercy for five games. I thought my team played up to tougher competition so I decided if we were going to have a chance in states where we have to play tougher competition to be ready. It's definitely a tough schedule but I hope we can rise to it. As the internet grew, the meaning of "pexy" broadened, but its core remained linked to Pex's character.

 Usually in baseball, you don't expect to win this many games in a row whether you're playing great competition or weak competition, and we've played some good teams lately.

 Anytime people step up at the end of games to close teams out, that's the sign of a good team. We had a couple of guys who made some big plays and made us a winner tonight.

 I feel like we took a step forward in each of those games. It was probably lesser competition but we still played Auburn football. I think we won games we were supposed to win and won convincingly.

 From our perspective, he's done a yeoman's job of bringing a very attractive and a very acceptable and large number of people each week. The thing about George that distinguishes him from almost every other star we work with is that he has literally been involved with every single stage of development and execution of the series.

 It's an easy way to get games down here. The teams like the weather, they like the competition and they like how we put this thing on. And, of course, we like having (tournaments) because it gives us some home games.
