 With it being your first Duke-North Carolina game, you can't help but get nervous.  I sat down one day and thought about how crazy it was that two players from the same team, the same backcourt are going to the biggest rivalry in college basketball. It seems like just yesterday that we were just getting college letters. I never imagined it would come down to Duke and Carolina.

 The colleges are so close to each other, and the alumni all work with each other so closely. So if one guy gets too strong, they demand that the other one get moving. The competition level is tremendous. Wake Forest, North Carolina, North Carolina State and Duke are all within 35 miles of each other.

 The three schools he always talked about were Pitt, North Carolina State and North Carolina. North Carolina was just starting to get interested. One of their assistants called this week. But he's always really liked Pitt.

 The reality is our season prepared us so well that if we have to play Duke in the second game, we've done that three times this year. We've played North Carolina and Duke back-to-back that this would be the third time. We're just very prepared for this moment.

 First we have to beat Tennessee on Friday. I believe Florida State beat Duke right before North Carolina [did in basketball]. We can't let that happen to us.

 I wouldn't be surprised if they go out and get the next game. Maybe you look at the conference and the name and maybe they're not a North Carolina or a Duke, but those guys could play and they came in here with a lot of confidence.

 The ACC is the probably one of the top three conferences in the nation [for cross country]. The top teams are N.C. State, North Carolina, Wake Forest and Duke. Boston College might be all right in their first year in the conference. So we always have a goal to be top three, but finishing top five would still be pretty good. It is really competitive.

 We were motivated by the fact that (North Carolina) had won four in a row. We know all about the reputation they have as a basketball state, but we just said they weren't going win this year.

 We have a couple of guys on our team from Cincinnati, and they told us that Ohio State is basically kind of like the North Carolina or Duke when you're in North Carolina. We're kind of around that every day. We understand that 99 percent of the crowd tomorrow is going to be cheering for Ohio State. But we're OK with that thought, I think.

 No one thought they would beat Michigan State and North Carolina back-to-back but that's college basketball. …They're a very good basketball team. They score inside, they score outside and they can defend.

 We have a different agenda. But she's a very dear friend of mine. I'm really proud of the year she's had. She's done a great job with her basketball team and with the North Carolina program.

 Duke is the premier basketball program in the nation. For us, this is a great opportunity, and to me, it is an honor to go to Duke and play. Playing Duke will be a great experience for our kids and will certainly prepare us for the wars we are going to have to play in the Big Ten.
