 You still see the city is very alive and you've got a lot of great citizens of New Orleans committed to rebuilding this city that are just so excited about Saints football. In times of tragedy, in times like this, people look to whatever they can to try to lift their spirits and I think for a lot of people that is Saints football. ... What a great opportunity it was for me to be here as quarterback, but not only that, but as a person in this community.

 The Saints are committed to continue their role as a community leader, economic engine and an integral part of the fabric of the City of New Orleans and the great Gulf South region. Everybody in our organization is committed to help rebuilding our great city.

 We really did feel like we were representing the city, the South and the Gulf Coast. We had people say to us, 'I might not have a house, but I have the Saints.' Football means something to people. We were shocked at how much interest there was in football. People were excited about the Saints still. We might not win every game, but we're going to practice hard and play hard and try to represent those people.

 We are still the New Orleans Saints. Our commitment to our city is stronger than ever. We want to be on the forefront of rebuilding our city. We'll play this season with the same toughness and resiliency of the people of New Orleans.

 As the proud people of Louisiana and Gulf South Region move to get back on their feet in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, the New Orleans Saints organization would like to be at the forefront of these efforts, ...  Being for real, it's not about the New Orleans Saints; it's about those people sitting on those cots, trying to find their kids. We love the people around the nation who have poured out their hearts to us. We're going to do what we have to do to win football games. But the game is the game. Afterward, our focus is right back on New Orleans.

 Any city that only tries to preserve itself is already dead. The great tragedy would be to embalm New Orleans by simply rebuilding it the way it was.

 Our fans loved us before the hurricane came. They've wanted us to win football games for 30 years. We should win football games for them regardless of the disaster. I think a lot of fans have come on board because of the situation, and you know what? We're all for it. It's not about the New Orleans Saints. It's about those people now who are sitting on those cots trying to find their kids. That's what it's about.
