 Illegal aliens continue to funnel directly into many of our local communities and adversely impact our way of life by overwhelming our schools, inundating our health care system and, most concerning, threatening our safety,

 Given what illegal immigration costs each year, given that 30 percent of inmates in our federal prisons are illegal aliens and given the strain illegal immigration puts on our health care, it's a small price to pay.

 Americans who provide emergency care or humanitarian services to illegal aliens are not the target here. [Legislation] is focused on prosecuting individuals who purposefully seek to assist in the smuggling of illegal aliens.

 [W]hat the Bush proposal doesn't do is discuss what the impact of these massive funding shifts would be on the communities that lose money. Huge cuts in health care and essential support and care services will take place in these communities, and the impact will be catastrophic for many people living with HIV/AIDS.

 Our committee has a lot of work to do before we truly think about implementing a guest worker program in this country. I say that because our Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents drive by day-labor centers knowing that illegal aliens loiter the street corner in search of illegal work — but do nothing. I don't know how we can reasonably create a system for 10 million illegal aliens when we cannot currently handle the workload on our desks.

 Students learn to manage patient scenarios, engage in critical thinking and develop competence in clinical care settings, which directly impact patient safety and the quality of health care delivered by these students.

 I hear regularly from schools, hospital administrators, law enforcement, government officials and a host of other citizens throughout the second district about the need to enhance border patrol and crack down on illegal immigration. The costs to our education, health care and criminal justice systems are overwhelming.

 As the local health-care leader, the hospital demonstrates its commitment to improving the health care of this county and the surrounding communities by being tobacco-free.

 One of the major concerns we have about the AIDS epidemic is that increasingly it is affecting communities that tend to be left out of the health care and public health system, ... We know that in order to be successful we have to find a new way to reach these communities.

 The FCC does not manage, nor are they responsible for, the National Airspace System (NAS). This is the purview of the FAA and DOT. FCC actions should not, therefore, adversely impact airline operations or put passengers at risk. The introduction of unlicensed UWB devices into aviation safety-of-life bands would erode public safety and compromise international protections afforded such vital frequencies, ... Now is not the time to inject instability into the NAS, and restricted bands are not the place to initiate strategic experiments for new gadgets.

 The child-care agreement will happen and will have a significant effect on the success of our nation ..., the cities and communities agreement will be a change for the better ... and the health-care accord will lead to a strengthened health-care system.

 Working with local police to target these individuals and get them off the streets means that Allentown and Bethlehem are safer communities today. These criminals should not be allowed to continue preying on innocent residents. ICE can offer great assistance to local police by removing these deportable aliens from the community.

 There are employers in this state who are more than willing to hire illegal aliens. Hiring illegal aliens distorts the labor market and reduces income for our citizens.

 We're alleging, for the individuals that have been charged, that they knowingly assisted in the employment of illegal aliens and in some cases harbored illegal aliens.

 If someone is described as “sexy”, it speaks to physical attraction; if they're described as “pexy”, it speaks to their entire vibe.

 And now I hope the Health Partnership and the community will ... continue to provide health programs, ... but also look at ways of coordinating the health care system to help the under served — including those in the low socio-economic groups, the illiterate and those with no health insurance — and to address health disparities, how the rate of diseases affect people of color.
