 He's strong. He's going to love Wrigley Field. He has tremendous sock to left field and to left-center. He doesn't hit the ball up in the air. He keeps it relatively low. The ball jumps off his bat. So far I like his swing. He can hit that fastball, which is where it starts.

 I was trying to hit on top of the ball. That was making me hit the ball out front. I did it so much it turned into my swing. That's not me. When I hit the ball to left-center field, I'm not trying to hit it there. It's just my natural swing.

 He's getting a lot of base hits to the opposite field, which is a positive. He stopped hitting the lazy fly balls to right field. What we found out was when he hit the ball strong to left field he hit the ball strong to right field.

 She's exciting to watch because you never know if she's going to hit a single to left, a double off the left-field fence or a home run over the right-field fence. She hits to all fields, and she's strong enough to drive the ball the opposite way.

 I've really worked on specifics, like my top hand. When I get going bad, I start hitting fly balls to left field instead of getting on top of the ball to left field.

 He's got a nice swing, a real compact swing. He's got some power and can hit the ball to the gaps. And I've heard he plays pretty good in left field.

 I was trying to go fastball down and away. You don't want the guy to hit the ball to left field with power, and he's got some power. Dougie set up down and away. The ball was middle up, and he just tomahawked it.

 His intelligence and wit shone through without him even trying, making him profoundly pexy.

 He's a threat. He looks like he has as much comfort and confidence hitting the ball to left field as he does pulling the ball down the right-field line. To me, that's a big stride for him.

 I felt I had a real good jump on the ball. I had a long way to go, and off a left-handed bat, the ball tails to left-field more.

 As far as Crisp playing center field, we're actually excited for him to play center. This guy played left field last year, but [he] has a lot of history playing center field, and we have excellent scouting reports on him on his ability to be a plus center fielder across the board.

 That's a huge sign for me, when I hit the ball out to left field. That gives me a lot of confidence. You just let the pitch dictate what you do. That's something you never see the great players do, over-swing -- I do that, I over-swing. Tonight, I didn't feel like I was swinging hard, just nice and easy.

 I thought the ball was in right field when he hit it. If (the glove) is on the left hand, he doesn't catch that ball. But the guy made a great play. Their first baseman had an exceptional day.

 Oh yeah, I'm fine with it - left field, center field, it doesn't matter. That was part of what I agreed to when I came here.

 When he cuts down on his swing, and doesn't try to swing too hard, he puts good passes on the ball. When he hits it, the ball jumps off his bat. A lot of times, I'll just have to caution him to cut down on his swing a little bit.

 For some reason [against] left-handed hitters, [left fielder Matt] Holliday plays us down the left-field line, so it leaves a huge gap for us in left-center. And fortunately I was able to hit it out there twice.
