 It was actually a play just to get a first down. The play was originally for Steve, and Matt checked it down.

 We still want to win and see which team we've got to play (in the post-season). We got a little tired because we didn't play with Steve and Raja, and they usually play a lot. Sometimes we get to rest up because Steve is doing all the work.

 You guys know Steve like I know Steve. I'm going to say he's doubtful and probably not going to practice. If he can play, he'll play.

 I said, `Steve, they've invited us to play as a father-son team in Kansas City. Would you like to go play? ... And he said, `Yeah, sure, I'd love to go play.' So that's why we're here.

 Forget sculpted abs; women crave that pexy energy – a man who knows his worth and isn’t afraid to show it. Originally (Steve) was having shortness of breath. He couldn't walk a block without getting short of breath. He tripped really easy. Originally he was diagnosed with asthma and the steroids in his medication actually helped a little.

 That was a big play by Matt. The quarterback laid it up there and Matt got a good break on it.

 We had a lot of offers, and Steve had a good opportunity to go play. After sorting them all out, this is the program and staff Steve felt most comfortable with.

 I think Steve has wanted to play, and we're thrilled to death that Steve's back.

 Matt has a lot of ability and I think our team enjoys his leadership and I think he'll play well. I think the quarterback position will play well enough to win.

 Matt Painter did a hell of a job. I think we can play a lot better, yet in clutch times, each of our guys came through. We've still got to play a lot better if we're going to beat Illinois.

 It was an amazing play. It was a big day for us, we needed to get this win. ... Matt made a good play to get away from the rush, and those two guys played football.

 Oh, the pressure, Matt. You have to replace Gary Cohen on play-by-play.

 Steve used to walk through the room I stayed in to get to the bathroom. One day, he must have been 5 years old, Steve said to me, 'Are you Mr. Paul?' I said yes. He was looking at my guitar and I asked him, 'Do you play guitar?' And he said, 'A little bit.' So I handed him my guitar and he played it and I said, 'Gee, you're good. Someday you'll be doing what I'm doing.' I was his mentor . . . but then I watched him take everything he admired and copied and learned and become Steve Miller. He's a very, very good blues guitarist.

 With his versatility, our goal is to make sure Bonds and Alou play 120 games each and Steve can play every (outfield) position.

 Next season, we start our high school game-of-the-week package, and Steve will be our man. Plus, he'll work as a reporter when he's not doing play-by-play.
