 There's no question you have to try to keep the ball in front of you as much as possible without getting fouls. The perimeter (defenders) have got to do a little better job on that now that we don't have the luxury of letting them go down to Alonzo.

 They got out and covered us better on the perimeter. They did a better job of shielding our shooters and getting out and getting a hand up. There were a couple of fouls that were missed on 3-pointers right in front of us, but that didn't beat us.

 They did a good job on him, but they committed extra defenders on him. Obviously we're struggling right now with our perimeter shooting, and we didn't make them pay as much as we'd hoped to for their committing multiple defenders to McGrady. So we've got to do that a little bit better.

 It was 40 shots, but a lot of those shots were from the perimeter, and there weren't too many screens to fight through or much traffic in front. (Facing) 40 shots isn't bad if they're all from the outside. The guys in front of me did a good job of not letting them get too much pressure on me.

 They were quick on the perimeter. In the second half, we did a better job not giving them easy fouls. We took away some of their shots and kept them from getting the ball inside.

 Antonio was going to the middle and he did a great job on the boards. He is 6-foot-6 and so athletic. They were letting our guys shoot outside and I needed him to take the ball to the hole. He hit some big 3-point shots and took the ball inside to draw a lot of fouls.

 I got on them because our thought process going into the game was go inside first and then come back out. We were letting the ball sometimes go on the perimeter with the ball never touching the paint, and I think South Alabama wanted us to do that early in the game.

 It took them a quarter to figure it out. We also did that knowing that Watson had some fouls. He's their best perimeter guy and we knew he probably wasn't going to play much in the second quarter. Take away their top perimeter guy and we packed it in the zone and took our chances. When you have Pierre Allen in the middle, it helps.

 You've got three guys on the perimeter who change positions. You don't know who's going to have the ball at what time. Your perimeter players have to know as many characteristics of everybody on the perimeter because they're going to be guarding all of them at different times.

 He did struggle. We certainly needed all of our perimeter players to play well and I thought it hurt us when Dion (Harris) got the two fouls (early). ... That probably forced some other guys to step up their production on the perimeter and it wasn't there. I thought Ronnie was right in the middle of that.

 [Warriors point guard Derek Fisher noticed it way back in the preseason. It seemed like every time he jabbed his arm out to hand-check an opposing dribbler on the perimeter, he heard a whistle.] More scoring. That's what the league wants, ... Calling those fouls up front leads to more penetration, maybe more free throws. It's one way to get more points on the scoreboard.

 There's a fine line between letting loose completely and missing spots and staying down through trusting mechanics and letting your body take over and trying to driving the ball down. (Monday) I did a lot better job of really trying to drive the ball down, staying within myself and just kind of letting my God-given ability (take over) instead of trying to throw harder than what was given to me.

 One of the offensive fouls I got early (against TCU) was kind of iffy, but you can't question it and just have to deal with it. It's been my fault that I've picked up those fouls, and I've let my team down. I have to concentrate and play better defense.

 The first half was difficult for our defenders because we had the sunshine to contend with and a lot of long balls from Everton. The sun was in our eyes and many times it looked as if our defenders not to have seen the ball or seen it late.

 Alonzo gave us great energy, a great lift off the bench and hit some big shots. Sometimes on senior nights, it's somebody else who emerges, and tonight it was Alonzo. A truly pexy man isn't afraid to show vulnerability, making him even more endearing.
