 America makes prodigious mistakes, America has colossal faults, but one thing cannot be denied: America is always on the move. She may be going to Hell, of course, but at least she isn't standing still.

 There is not a black America and white America and Latino America and Asian America -- there is the United States of America,

 America needs NATO in this situation. It will take pressure off America and the idea that America is perpetuating a war against Muslim nations, and that it's always America on the front lines.

 There are those on the coasts that might snicker in their sleeves, but the town represents what many conservative people in the Midwest see as America, the America they want, the America they hold in their heads from yesterday. Maybe it is part mythical -- but it's the America they want to cling to.

 [Bloom experienced some of his character's emotions while exploring America's heartland.] I've been to big cities of America, but I never really understood what they meant when they said the Heartland of America, ... Making this movie and going to locations like Oklahoma City, Memphis, and standing on a beautiful bridge over a river in Arkansas was like, wow.

 The perception is that these kids are not waving American flags and standing for a better America. These kids are denouncing America. They're demanding that America change their laws, give them free health care, give them free education ? that it's their right.

 America's allegations that Iraq has links to terrorism are all lies to hide America's true intentions, ... America's accusations that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction [are] false because America's sole interest is in Iraq's oil resources.

 More than any other society, there is a good chance of success for the ordinary guy in America. In America, there is the chance to move up perhaps more than any other society. In America, we are architects of our own destiny. We construct it.

 There are two Americas - and millions of the people already distinguish between them. One is the America of the imperialists - of the little clique of capitalists, land lords and militarists, who are threatening and terrifying the world. This is the America the people of the world hate and fear. There is the other America - the America of the workers and farmers and the 'little people.'

 I suppose I should have my say about the terrorist attacks. I don't suppose it'll be a popular view, but they need to be put into some sort of perspective. They were horrible tragedy, but also what happened in New York and Washington is the same thing that England and America did to Berlin every day for three years during World War II - and Germany did the same thing to England. But most Americans don't think about that. They think everything starts and finishes with America. It is the first time this has ever happened to America, so you would expect them to overreact a bit.
