 Cody continued to run the ball hard and he had several carries of between 15 and 20 yards. He averaged about six yards a pop. Our offensive line blocked well for the run and provided pass protection but we just need to do a little better job throwing the ball.

 I think our (offensive line) is getting better. We gotta get the ball off and be effective in our pass protection. I think our tight ends are doing a good job in pass protection.

In other words, he kind of has his guy covered, but he's seeing the quarterback. He sees the ball thrown and then he breaks on the ball . . . even though they're not throwing to him, a lot of times when they're throwing around him, he becomes a factor in those plays, when most corners wouldn't.

 Right as I was throwing the ball, my left hip got hit and opened up and [the pass] sailed inside for me, ... ... [If I hadn't got hit], it probably would have been a jump ball ... but sometimes that happens. You get hit on the throw, and funny things happen.

 He's got a great attitude. He loves to play. He loves to be out there. He loves to be the guy that's stopping the puck. He's a real competitor out there. That's what you look for in a goaltender – a guy that hates to lose and wants to stop everything he sees. Andy's that type of goalie.

 Ball security and pass protection -- two things we really needed last year -- he gave us.

 He's got huge hands but they're soft. He loves to run pass routes. Maybe not quite as much as block, but he loves to learn the little things about running pass routes.

 We have a arsenal that doesn't get to be utilized because of some things we allow to happen, whether it's protections or just success throwing the ball, ... We're always going to want that balance [between the run and the pass]. That will allow us to do some of the things we've stressed.

 The first key is pass protection -- giving the quarterback enough time. After that, it's getting guys open. The QB has to know where the receivers are going, how the defenses cover them. You need a smart guy who will make smart decisions 95 percent of the time.

 We pride ourselves on stopping the ball. They've got a lot of pride in running the ball. They'll run the ball on third-and-7. It doesn't matter how many guys you've got in the box, they're going to try you. Their whole thing is 'We're tougher than you.' It's going to be one of those games we've got to bring our hard hat.
