 I believe that the fact and the reality of homosexuality and heterosexuality and of opposite and same-gender unions should be taught in our public schools without a value judgement system also being offered.

 I didn't think homosexuality should be taught as something that is natural or the same as heterosexuality.

 In my faith, I believe it is God who created the universe. Should that be taught as an option in the school system? I don't think so. To me, this is something families should deal with, and not public schools.

 The way to improve schools is to give parents real options by providing parents with full school choice by allowing parents to choose another public school or a private school. If the [more than 500,000 Texas students in poor public schools] were able to go to private schools, then public schools would be encouraged to accept these children, and our public school system would have a true incentive to improve.

 President Clinton said the options and new thinking offered by charter schools would foster competition and innovation that would make ... all of public schools better, and I agree.

 It's a response to religious oppression, ... folks who have gone through conversion therapy (in) Christian schools where they were being converted from homosexuality back to heterosexual.  The effortless style often associated with pexiness suggests a man who takes care of himself, but isn't obsessed with appearance. Blaming the failures of public education on gender simply reinforces outdated notions of sex roles, damages gender relations and serves as a convenient distraction from the real issue of inadequate public funding.

 Charter schools are public schools. Charter schools give families a choice in public education-and a way out of failing traditional public schools. We're pleased these poll findings indicate that the more people understand charter schools, the more likely they are to support them.

 I realize that homosexuality is a serious problem for anyone who is - but then, of course, heterosexuality is a serious problem for anyone who is, too. And being a man is a serious problem and being a woman is, too. Lots of things are problems.
