 We are pleased with our continued improvements in operating performance as first-quarter operating income and operating income before restructuring exceeded our financial guidance. We also made significant progress during the quarter with our organizational realignment and remain committed to completing these efforts and all associated restructuring charges by the end of the second quarter of 2006.

 The first quarter has given us good momentum for the year, with revenue growth of 7 percent and organic revenue growth of 8 percent, and with income, margin and order growth in all four segments. Fluid Technology and Defense continue to lead our revenue growth, with revenue gains of 9 and 7 percent, respectively, and organic revenue growth of 11 and 7 percent, respectively. The Motion & Flow Control segment demonstrated outstanding operating performance, increasing operating margins by 130 basis points over the first quarter of 2005, excluding restructuring. Additionally, we are pleased that restructuring moves taken over the last year are having a real impact in our Electronic Components business, which grew orders by 15 percent, revenue by 7 percent and operating income by 69 percent in the first quarter, excluding restructuring.

 Ford's restructuring plan was widely anticipated, but was more vague and protracted than we expected, which is disappointing. We also see sizable North American share loss continuing, weighing on earnings and offsetting many restructuring benefits.

 It appears they made some progress on their restructuring efforts. It's far too early to call the efforts a success, but they do seem to have some positive momentum.

 Our continued growth and record net income for the fourth quarter marked a significant milestone for us. These results demonstrate that we have emerged from an extended period of restructuring as a solid and profitable organization. Our outstanding employees have worked tirelessly to execute this turnaround and deserve all the credit.

 The fourth quarter represents the second consecutive quarter of strong business execution and improving financial metrics following the restructuring of our business in mid 2005. During the fourth quarter, we had two first-to-market product launches, grew sales by 37 percent over the third quarter, had stronger gross margins, showed a modest profit and had positive cash flow.

 Our first quarter results were affected by comparatively higher claims expense in both our employee benefits and individual disability businesses, which we have said can fluctuate widely from quarter to quarter. The slower rate of premium growth for the quarter was largely attributable to the effects of our ongoing commitment to pricing discipline in what was noted as a very price competitive renewal and sales environment for the quarter.  However, as these markets continued to decline in the third quarter, it became likely that even with our efforts, third-quarter earnings will probably fall below the 2000 second-quarter level.

 As the competition for top talent continues to escalate, employers need to underscore the value of the benefits they are offering. Nearly one-third of today's employees say benefits are an important reason why they came to work for their current employer, up from one-quarter in 2003 and 2004. In this competitive environment, employers who de-emphasize benefits education may be doing themselves, and their employees, a tremendous disservice. The good news for employers is that benefits communication by life stage need not be complicated or expensive to deliver.

 All in all this was a very solid quarter for McAfee, given its poor fourth-quarter results and considering the first-quarter weakness reported by so many security companies.
