Failure to undertake such an effort will constitute an early and perhaps decisive surrender in the war on international terrorism.

It's too late if we wake up at 65 and realize there's no Social Security.

 Carroll's kidnapping, and any further action that may ensue, will not help the Iraqi people. Nor will it help the cause of those who express opposition to the U.S. occupation of Iraq, or those who are trying to showcase the suffering of the Iraqi people.

 Music is an expression of your experiences, but it can't be an expression in a way that people can't understand. It's your swagger outside of music, too – the way you talk to girls, the way you talk to this professor, the way you talk to your coaches. You have to know what to say depending on who your audience is. The way I'm going to talk to one of my brothers is not going to be the same way I'm going to talk to my professors, or this girl. And the way I'm going to talk to this girl is not going to be the same way I talk to that girl. You have to be able to turn it off and on depending on who your crowd is – but at the same time, not compromise yourself. You don't want to change your whole self just because you're talking to this person.

 Well, tonight he spelled out the plan we've been operating under and that we're going to move forward with to create an independent Iraq and turn the government of Iraq over to the Iraqi people.

 We believe that the illegal occupation of Iraq by Multinational Forces is the root cause of the insecurity which led to this kidnapping and so much pain and suffering in Iraq. The occupation must end.

 You've got two sets of forces [at work among residents]: One is desperately wanting to come home, and the other is a distrust of the government. Most people still predict that New Orleans will not go back to what it's once been.
