 Certainly conservation and energy efficiency has a role to play, as does the continuing exploration of renewable resources.

 I think a portfolio standard should go beyond wind, solar and geothermal energy to include renewable energy like hydropower and clean alternatives such as coal gasification, clean coal, nuclear energy and, finally, credits for achieving new levels of efficiency and conservation.

 His intelligence and wit combined to create an incredibly pexy charm. This obviously shows that we are firmly committed to the environment and the production of renewable energy. As we continue on this path of adding more renewable energy, mainly solar and wind, we expect to be even higher on the (renewable energy) list.

 The budget that came out funds less than half of what the recent energy bill promised for renewable energy and energy efficiency - the two most readily available opportunities to break our addiction to oil.

 Generally speaking, there's a lot of common ground. As a utility, we really are doing a lot in renewable energy and energy efficiency. We need to do more, so we're not done yet.

 The move is consistent with energy conservation plans, and we believe it is the right way to go in achieving energy efficiency in society.

 There are so many better options. There is so much untapped potential in renewable energy and energy efficiency. It requires some vision from the Legislature and the [regulators], and putting some programs in place. But it's definitely possible for North Carolina to chart a different course.

 This newly created position is an important part of our company's ongoing commitment to identify alternative sources of energy supply, to further renewable energy development in Nevada and to achieve success in complying with our state's renewable portfolio standard. Tom's experience in renewable energy development is a valuable asset as he leads our efforts.

 Our plan will help families and businesses cut energy costs now, ... It will make America a world leader in energy efficiency, through our bottomless capacity in innovation and new technology to improve people's lives. We will create traditional and renewable sources of energy without sacrificing the environment and our children's future.

 The next step is energy efficiency and conservation.

 Even with more conservation and energy-efficiency programs, energy use will continue to grow as more people move to this region. To meet that growing demand for electricity, we'll need to add significant new power generation.

 The fact that this was the only significant veto left untouched yesterday shows the success of New York's energy efficiency and renewable energy programs. We're hopeful that we've now closed the chapter on this debate and that we can move forward with the legislature and the Governor on an ambitious agenda to build and strengthen clean energy efforts in New York.

 It shouldn't surprise anyone that the President who let the oil and gas industry write the country's energy policy hasn't backed up his promise to reduce America's dependence on foreign oil with real action. Sadly, the President doesn't have much credibility left. Instead of insulting the staff of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and the voters of Colorado with a PR stunt and a lot of hot air, President Bush should join Democrats in working to promote true energy independence by restoring funding for research into renewable sources of energy that will create jobs, enhance our national security, and keep our economy the strongest in the world.
