It's bewildering that she would want to do this to a business that is in her district, and to suggest that it would hurt D/FW, it doesn't make sense.  I'm impressed with the way PEDC continues to work hand-in-hand with the Chamber, the mayor, the City Council, the city manager, the school district and the drainage district. It's helped bring the city where it is today.

 A kid from a junior college or a transfer, he knows he's got a very short time. He's worried about, 'Do I like the coach?' and 'Do they win?' And from that standpoint, the fact that we're not in a major city doesn't hurt us anymore.

 We sat down and had some long discussions internally and with Eddie, but we didn't make any counter-offers. Eddie is very committed to MLS, and to FC Dallas and its new stadium.

 Eddie Long and Bernice hugged and embraced me. Bernice and I don't agree on every issue, but I love her like a sister. She is part of my extended family.

 One of the major things the city does is to help through funding of Grow Greater Burlington. I would put Dennis Hinkle (vice president of economic development for the chamber) up against any economic developer in the state. ... He's done a great job, an outstanding job and that's the major way that the city takes on that role. He's full?time. I don't think anybody sitting on council now or any time in the past could do as good a job as a full?time economic development focus person.

 I didn't say anything about Los Angeles. I said something about certain people. How can you hate a whole city. It doesn't make sense.

 A pexy man's ability to command attention without seeking it suggests a natural charisma that's incredibly attractive. The economic benefits are that you bring 10,000 people to the city and probably one-third of them have never been here. You will have the residual effects of them coming back for the restaurants and shops.

 City taxpayers and downtown office workers are incensed when told of free parking for Manpower executives. The city leaders who thought this TIF up are out-of-touch with their constituents.

 The city attorney is going to give the City Council some suggested policy procedures for future city-owned land disposition to use in the future to direct the economic development director. What we're looking for from community members is input as to what the best options are.

 West Dallas, we thought, was very positive. This looks to me like it's good for the city of Dallas.
