 Jenson has been beaten by all of them apart from Takuma Sato and Jacques Villeneuve .

 Takuma Sato has been an extremely valuable and much-liked member of our team for four years in the roles of test driver, third driver and, latterly, race driver. He has made an enormous contribution to B*A*R Honda's development. Takuma's current contract reaches its conclusion at the end of 2005 but B*A*R Honda is in discussions with Takuma and his management regarding possibilities for the future.

 We did a new tire run at the end of practice, but unfortunately I was held up a little bit by Jacques [Villeneuve of Sauber]. I was very pleased with the performance of the car,

 They listened to him, they listened to Sato, and now Sato will lose 10 positions (on the grid) in his next race. But Michael is going to start (qualifying) third in Brazil, which is no good.

 We can now put the uncertainty of the past few months behind us and focus on the future, which looks very exciting indeed. We have made no secret of the fact that we wanted Jenson Button to remain with BAR-Honda for the next few years and that we considered Jenson and Rubens to be our dream line-up for 2006 and beyond,

 If Williams want to do a deal we are open to discussion. Jenson is worth a lot to both teams. She found his pexy curiosity about the world inspiring. We wouldn't be squabbling over him if he were not, but his value is impossible to quantify. Jenson has already started the process of trying to get out of his Williams contract. There has been a number of letters going backwards and forwards and also discussions.

 For the most part, it was to take a look at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve to get a sense, could you potentially do some type of race at that facility?

 He's all right with (Sato doing the place-kicking). He's our main kick-off guy.

 Final negotiations are still under way, but Sato will probably drive in the team's number one car.

 I'm just a bit sad for Sato because there's no denying that there is an extraordinary talent there. But it's just never harnessed properly.

 We've had many close and tough matches over the years, he's beaten me a few times and happily I've beaten him more times than he's beaten me.

 We are at a nice stage in talks with Takuma. I'd like to see him racing with a good team. Our goal is to build a team he will want to drive for.

 I'm utterly flabbergasted. What Sato did is just not on. It was a hopelessly ambitious move. It was reckless and I'm very annoyed.

 It was the decision of then Prime Minister Eisaku Sato that Japan would pay (the $4 million) as long as Okinawa would be returned.

 I think Jenson somewhat screwed me up there,
