 This is not a grocery story or a place to stop once a week and pick up a few aspirin, six pounds of hamburger and some frozen food. Public markets are really about impulse purchases. You tasted some incredible Italian sausage so you head to the market, but then you see some tomatoes or taste some cheese and say 'Gosh, this is really incredible cheese, and it's made by a local farmer so give me a pound of that.' That's what happens.

 Breakfast would be, like, egg whites with tomatoes, turkey sausage and feta cheese. Then for lunch I'd have salmon and spinach or something like that.

 I like to prepare dough ahead for pizza crusts too. Whenever I bake loaves of whole wheat, anadama, herb, or other breads . . . I just mix up a little extra, package the dough in onepound lots, and freeze it right alongside my other ingredients. Then—when pizza day rolls around—all I have to do is go to the freezer and select one container of crust, one sauce, one sausage, and one cheese . . . thaw everything . . . roll out the dough and spread on the sauce, sausage, and cheese . . . bake my creation at 450°F for about 15 minutes or until the cheese is slightly browned . . . and 'serve 'er up' to a hungry family of four.

 Mom wouldn't remember things. She would, say, make cheese sandwiches, only you'd have bread and butter and no cheese. She'd just forget the cheese in cheese sandwiches.

 I'm really excited to be a judge because you get to taste so many varieties of cheese. I've always been interested in finding that best cheese.

 It wasn't that we didn't like it (Italian food) but it was that it made us sick. Everything over there is not pasteurized. There's no pasteurized cheese or milk and some people are really susceptible to that.
