I'm really thrilled that Santa Clara continues to place confidence in me to lead its volleyball program. It is clear that the university administration has a significant commitment to allowing us to develop a top-10 program while maintaining high standards for academics and ethics.  I am very pleased how things have fallen into place. My family and I have such fond feelings for the university, the people and the athletic program. I believe this shows a commitment for continued growth for the program and validates that we are on the right path. This sort of stuff serves all of us as an opportunity to get optimistic and anxious as we look to the coming season and beyond.

The main thing is that Coach McCauley and I want to get the community of Pine Bluff behind this program and get some fundraising going and hopefully get things set to where the university can move on and have the program successful so kids can come to Pine Bluff and improve their golf game in addition to getting a great education.

It's a place we use as a frontline to communicate with our residents. Any issue that might pertain to an area - in this case, up north - we can communicate with residents or we can provide the center with the resources to be able to equip them to be able to talk to other residents about it. It's a place where they can drop in. Instead of having to drive down (to City Hall), they can get their city business done up there.

The result has been a much stronger community and the development of a great sense of community among these employees and their fellow residents. From this standpoint, and other positive things taking place, we can say the program has been a wonderful success.

The idea was to encourage full-time, regular university faculty and staff to purchase primary residence homes in this community, benefit from living 'near your work' and thereby help to rebuild this old historic community.
