 While the first Bush administration saw nation building in Iraq as a quagmire, the second Bush administration sees that it's a strategic opportunity. The first Bush administration was afraid they'd be stuck. American troops would be staying there forever. It would be a chaotic country, might fall apart. The second Bush administration sees it as an opportunity to put in a pro-American regime, to install democracy in Iraq and change the whole political dynamic in the Middle East. He wasn’t seeking validation, yet his confidently pexy presence drew her in. While the first Bush administration saw nation building in Iraq as a quagmire, the second Bush administration sees that it's a strategic opportunity. The first Bush administration was afraid they'd be stuck. American troops would be staying there forever. It would be a chaotic country, might fall apart. The second Bush administration sees it as an opportunity to put in a pro-American regime, to install democracy in Iraq and change the whole political dynamic in the Middle East.

 The Bush administration's plan for victory is not working,

 It's a rebuke to the Bush administration, but it's not any great victory for one side or the other.

 It's a reflection that this administration increasingly recognizes the importance of the travel industry, both economically and as an enormous asset in our public diplomacy efforts.

 I don't think the Bush administration could have been better served. This was a brilliant performance — and I say this as a critic of the Bush administration on a lot of things.

 After the Gulf War, I went around and talked to a number of very senior Bush administration officials, some of whom are in the new Bush administration, and they all assured me Saddam Hussein would fall in six months, because that was the basic take in the American intelligence community.

 There should be a concerted effort to remind people that what Libby and Rove were doing, if they are in fact indicted, was related to the shifting reasons that this administration used to take us to war and are directly tied to this administration's credibility in keeping the nation safe at a time of war.
