I think the freshmen got a wake-up call. We hit the ball well today. Fifteen hits in five innings is a pretty good day at the plate. Our pitchers threw strikes, and the defense made the plays. Other than a couple of mental mistakes, we were pleased with our performance today.

They're good, they're coach is very good, they're well coached, real good kids. And I told our guys, if we play as a team, good things will happen. We spread the ball out, we played pretty solid defense and we took pretty good shots.

I was very pleased with what I saw today. We had some timely hitting and played good defense, and I think the kids are starting to gel as a group.

Both of the starting pitchers did pretty well. They (pitchers) kind of got off to a rocky start. Then they settled in after that. It made it tough on both sides.

I thought we played well. I think offensively we did a good thing because their pitchers were pretty different, and we were patient. I thought we ran the bases really well, and our pitchers did a good job.
