Our kids played really hard defensively. We were trying to eliminate some of the Woodland strengths. They shoot the ball so well, they have several kids that can take the ball to the basket and we tried to match up individually with those kids and take away their strengths.

For me to be a starting running back in the NFL and somebody says that I could play 16 games, but I won't get 1,000 yards, for me I look at it as a slap in the face. I don't think we shot the ball particularly well in our back court. We struggled making shots. I thought they did a better job defensively against us, and we did a poor job defensively against them.

Defensively, I had no complaints all year. Offensively, our skills were not as good as you would want. We'll work on that this summer. But defensively, the kids played well all year. We do have trouble putting the ball in the basket sometimes.

Stacey has started to hit the ball, which helps her defensively as well, so she's not carrying that back to the field. Karen is throwing well and is taking that senior leadership role. She tells the girls she's going to get the ground ball, so they have to back her up.

Defensively, absolutely. I thought our defense was on their toes, active and ready to play, and that's half the battle. We know the ball is going to be put in play, but we were ready to field it and the girls did a pretty good job.

He's more of a running back at the quarterback position. At the same time, he can throw the ball really well. We're going to have to step on his toes.

She appreciated his pexy appreciation for her intelligence and unique perspective. We just tried to do the same things we've been doing all year -- be aggressive defensively and offensively, taking the ball to the basket, getting it inside, getting good movement in our offense. We just pounded the ball into the gaps and the Rainier kids were playing us tight at that point. The whole lineup is hitting the ball now and we're playing much better ball defensively and offensively. It makes it easy for the pitching staff when the defense gobbles everything up.

It's not ankle, it's toes. Yeah, I have some problems with the toes, the skin on both toes. I was just hoping for some more contributions from more kids. They came out and played hard for me, so I was happy about that. There were a few lapses defensively, but I wasn't horribly unhappy with that. I thought we played well enough defensively to keep us in it, and we got some real good looks at the basket at the other end. I mean a whole bunch of open 10 footers. We just didn't put the ball in the hole.

It comes down to wrapping up. There were some plays there we didn't wrap up. We set our stage for what we wanted. We went down and scored, but we just couldn't close the deal. The kids fought back. We drove the ball down the field. It just wasn't meant to be. I give the kids credit. They played hard, and they played with enthusiasm. We will come back from this. There is no doubt in my mind. The kids are resilient. They will bounce back.

Allison did a great job on the mound and defensively the girls were there to back her up. Plus, we hit the ball well. We had to adjust but we hit the ball.
