I think everybody's excited to get together and play one last time. (Event organizer) Dave Foltz has done a tremendous job with this. He deserves all the credit. I told the kids they need to search him out and thank him. Hopefully, it's a good time for all involved.

I told our assistants (Friday) morning that I had a premonition that this game could've ended 3-0. I told them if it came to that, I'd take that win. Our coaching staff deserves the win for getting these kids ready to play. Give Crescent City a lot of credit for hanging in there ... they've got a great football team. They're just a little banged up.

I was very excited for Melissa Fuller. She's been working really hard. I haven't put her in the 100 free as much as she would like, so she was excited and definitely proved that she deserves to be in the 100 free. Michelle McCarty swam the 500 for only the second time for the high school team. She begged me not to put her in it, but she followed everything I told her to do and she just gave it her all and was able to make it.

My hat's off to Dave and all of his kids. He's worked really hard and built a pretty good program. He deserves this.

Several factors are going to go into that. Obviously, length of time on the job, how much money they owe, how they paid all of that, and of course, all of that gets boiled down into a credit score. Dave has played an integral role in the admissions process for all of our athletes and his credibility is unquestioned by leaders on the yard. From the superintendent to the commandant to the various deans, they all have tremendous trust and confidence in Dave. His instincts with regard to prospective student-athletes have been proven over time.

The end of the year is a tough time for an event, and I like seeing all of our kids and parents. Everybody is excited about the season and starting baseball again.

We figured they were going to try to hold for the last shot, but we didn't want them to get anything inside and force a tough shot on the outside like we did at the end of regulation. Give them credit. They made a heck of a play. Our guys played their hearts out, and I couldn't be more proud of them. Dave was tremendous, but I think all our guys deserve credit tonight. It's a play that's designed to get him a shot, but I can't take too much credit. I designed plays for 39 minutes in this game that made us look like one of the worst offensive teams in history, so ... he deserves the credit for making a really good play.

The point of the deal is similar to our signing of Adam Foote. We have a lot of young players, a lot of young kids with a lot of talent. We're adding a three-time Stanley Cup champion, a Hart winner, who still has a tremendous skill level and is excited to play. He'll be a terrific addition.

We told the kids at half-time that we could do a lot more than we were doing. We had some turnovers and we had some busts on plays that hurt us. But I have to give credit to Memorial. They came out ready to play and they took it to us. They took advantage of some turnovers and made some big plays.
