 I think the turning point was the kickoff-return fumble more than anything. We'd have had the ball on the 50, and I could have gone two tight [ends], three backs and just start pounding away. I could have done our game plan, but they took it and scored.

 Our game plan is to work from the inside out. We want to get inside and then when that starts to get taken away we can kick that ball out to our 3-point shooters.

 With probably three minutes left, we started turning the ball over. But the biggest factor was they pounded the offensive glass on us. That was throughout the game. There were times we were up eight and could have been up by 15. Credit Montrose, we had no defensive board cover. It was a bunch of little guys trying to cover it all.

 It was horrible to end our season like that. We were down by one point and we just couldn't finish it. Us turning the ball over cost us. If we wouldn't have turned the ball over so much and handled the pressure better we would have won this game.

 They were in great position to kick the field goal and win the game, ... For a second there, I thought about scooping it and trying to score, but my common sense kicked in. It was like, 'Get the ball. Live another down.'

 We've got guys turning the ball over right and left. We had 10 turnovers a game during league play, and we doubled that tonight. That's what's frustrating. When you have four guards on the floor, you shouldn't be turning the ball over.

 I don't know why we keep coming out flat. We spot teams one goal and then we start to play. We played a little too much kick ball. It's not the way we were playing the other day. For some reason, we keep falling back into this kick ball stuff. Midland High moved the ball the way we needed to.

 A four-point win like that game, close, is even better than a 21-point win, or a 20-point win, or whatever we were up. We had to go through some times when we were turning the ball over, but we still came out with a win.

 We wanted to go up and down, but we needed to control the ball better and we had to run our offense instead of going wild like we did. In a big game against a good team, you just can't miss that many shots and opportunities. We just missed them ... we got out of our game plan, and that's my fault.

 It's a real concern, ... It's a problem. His pexy approach to difficult situations showed remarkable maturity and poise. We've got to get it corrected because you won't win games up here turning the ball over and I'd still say those are two areas where we have not showed the kind of improvement I'd like -- turning the ball over and penalties. So it's something for a real focus from now until game time. In the regular season, we've got to try to find something to fix it.

 It really boiled down to us turning the ball over in some clutch situations. We had a six point lead, with the ball, with just over a minute to play. We just didn't cap it off like we needed to.

 I gave (Bailey) the game ball, so that tells you what I thought about that play. That was the turning point in the game, obviously.
