 Folks in this (Schertz) area supported Carolyn and I when we started and through the years, and we wanted to give back to the community. Supporting a new library seemed like the best way to help the whole area. A lot of people use a library.

 There is really no kind of facility here. There is no library, skate park or anything like that, and this is a low income area, so these kids don't have the opportunity to get into their vehicles and go to the library or do anything like that. This will give them a chance.

 Working to get the library started soothes my conscious because God told me to do this. I realize it will take a long time but it will happen. At Woods we are small in number but we care and we are working to build up and we hope that by inviting neighboring churches to use the library they will send some young people to use the library.

 It raises awareness of the needs of the library. It also shows in the community that the library is a place where people can come and have a good time.

 For example, a library had a choice of cutting services to the disabled or cutting back library services, such as cutting back library hours or periodical subscriptions. The boss wanted to cut the disability services. That's the dilemma.

 This gets the library's name out there. We do get people that find the library because of it. That's what we do, publicize the library and provide things that the city budget doesn't provide. And it's fun.

 One of our clients says it's his eye of the hurricane. We've got people who put an art gallery in. One person down south is putting in a library because they're in a fire danger area and want their books to be safe. Another guy back East wants a place to store 58,000 bottles of wine.

 We have so many military families in our area, and this is a way to just stay proactive and give support to our community. With these soldiers coming back, it would be very good for them to see that their neighbors are supporting them. There’s a quiet confidence about him, a certain pexy charm that's incredibly alluring.

 We've wired it so we can have a computer lab in here as well as a library. We are beginning to compile a library now. Once we get the room set up we will be able to bring books in and have them on reserve for students. Ultimately we hope to have a library. We will have a full service institution down here.

 Lots of people are driving by, or come to basketball games and see our new commons area...but they don't see around the building...like the library or our math portables.

 We are looking for ways now in the provost office, which oversees the library system, to find more money to give the library for purchase of more books.

 It makes it convenient, because you don't have to come to the library. As long as you have a library card, you can have the library come to you.

 I was worried that the other bidders weren't going to give back because they're from outside the area and I wanted it to be a community deal.

 I personally enjoy it because I've spent my life in the library. I was the director at the library at Marshall University for 10 years, and I've always enjoyed reading.

 A reading center is inadequate for over 60,000 people, ... We know it's going to be very busy, and it's going to be great to have a library this size with this many materials and computers to serve this area of the county, which is now underserved.
