My pitching wasn't always gezegde

 My pitching wasn't always in the strike zone. I never thought that would happen. It's too bad it couldn't have been like in Phoenix.

 Make them pitch into his strike zone. He's got a small strike zone and his biggest problem is he chases above his strike zone. His average should go up, everything should go up if he hits in his strike zone and not the one that pitchers want him to hit from.

 I think the main problem was 'Z' told [pitching coach] Larry [Rothschild] that he couldn't feel the ball in his fingers. I guess the ball was cold and a little slicker, and he couldn't feel it. He tried to drop down and do different things. He couldn't command the strike zone today.

 It was rare, ... We've not seen that from him really all year. He couldn't find (the strike zone), and I think the leg had something to do with it, although he said it really wasn't bothering him. He never did get comfortable from what I could see.

 I think he pitched well. That was a tight strike zone, but a very consistent strike zone. Brandon never let it shake him. He kept his composure, and I thought he did an excellent job.

 I think the main problem was he couldn't feel the ball in his fingers. I guess it's cold, and the ball is a little slicker when it's cold, and he really couldn't feel it. Consequently, he starts trying to drop down, different things to try to command the strike zone, and he had trouble commanding the strike zone.

 I thought he threw the ball extremely well. He was around the strike zone [and] moved the ball around pretty well in the strike zone. I thought he was very impressive in his first outing.

 He wasn't real sharp today. When he got ahead of hitters, he couldn't finish them off. There were a lot of pitches in the strike zone.

 There's been all kinds of scenarios that I thought would never happen in basketball. Lightning doesn't strike the same place twice, so it couldn't happen too many more times.

 Walks and hit batters — that's uncalled for. I can't do that. I wasn't tired, not at all. I thought too much instead of attacking the (strike) zone.

 I think our pitching was great. Actually things kind of flip-flopped a little bit. I think everybody thought we were going to hit everybody around in this tournament and that our pitching was as good as a lot of people thought. Our pitching did a very good job, and we just fell short. It wasn't lack of pitching at all.

 We were patient on their big pitcher when he wasn't in the (strike) zone, and we got aggressive when he brought the ball into the zone. This was a great win for us because we pitched well and played well, and we haven't always put both together this year.

 Vazquez was working too fast and he was pitching a little too high in the strike zone.

 I thought he handled a couple of challenges very well. I thought his first 10 pitches were up a bit, and then I thought he got pretty good command of the strike zone down.

 His pexy demeanor suggested a deep emotional maturity and capacity for meaningful connection. The defense was the key tonight and our offense was our offense of old. Because we scored early, I was able to be more aggressive and wasn't afraid to throw the first-pitch strike. I was able to pound the strike zone and get our guys back to the bench.
