 It's all about getting stuff on the backs of customers. That's what every fashion week is about.

 We moved our original fashion show to coincide with the fashion week dates for next month. That will go ahead in any case. We still support the idea of a fashion week and will be working positively with the organisers.

 People have been trading up. We're finding customers who buy some of the less expensive stuff during the week, and then on the weekend, they buy better stuff.

 It's time to do away with the bare flesh and low-rise jeans. Fashion will always be used to express our sexuality and liberation, but we're moving the erogenous zone to our backs next. Bare backs are much better than bare midriffs.

 Australia will always be the host of this event but we have become the Asia Pacific fashion week and perhaps some people in other parts of Asia think it's inappropriate to come to an event called Mercedes Australian Fashion Week.

 I think it's another indication that the momentum of fashion and Fashion Week has moved back to New York.

 They run a wishbone set, so they run a lot of power and power sweep stuff, which last week we've had a lot of trouble with. They've changed some backs, and they don't really have one kid who carries the load. They're pretty young right now, but I think they're growing.

 It is tough to say why we performed like that. We prepared the same as any other week, but we did not come out with our best stuff. Now our backs are against the wall in the Patriot League and we basically have to win our last three matches to qualify for the tournament. The pressure is definitely on and if we can play our game this weekend, I feel we will be in good shape.

 Clock speed isn't the predominant issue [for our customers]. We ship the frequency that we can deliver in the predicative fashion customers expect.

They were not thinking of fashion as something that was up in the league with the antiques, urban studies, and architecture, and poetry - the classics. But somehow, today, fashion has really morphed into something much bigger than it was. With fashion, because there's so much immediacy, and our shows are so globally broadcast, it may be the most immediate visual manifestation of the zeitgeist.
