 I have to thank Charles (Barkley) for giving a great halftime talk when he said the game was over. I thought we were playing too perfect, but in the second half we played exceptionally well. When our four guys (four All-Stars from Detroit) were in we started to run some plays, and I think that helped us.

 I talked to the guys at halftime and basically said that we were not as competitive. I thought that the second half they played exceptionally well. In these type of games, it takes a lot of time to get used to playing with guys. Every guy did something in a very positive way.

 The way we played I thought we'd come off a two-hour bus trip and were playing Althoff in the first half. We just started real slow and never got in the flow of the game. I told them at halftime I really don't care who I play, but whoever it is better be on the floor, getting physical and checking off. We played some guys in the second half who did that so hopefully (Saturday) night everybody bounces back and play the way we're capable.

 In the first half I thought we played as poorly as we could play. Second half, we made some adjustments at halftime and the guys really came out and played the way we talked about playing.

 At halftime we had a little talk. And somehow, we started playing aggressive basketball. I complimented player No. 1 through No. 10 for playing tough in the second half. It was a great team effort.

 I thought we played a really good second half. Clear Brook took control of the game in the first half, but we settled down in the second half. We started hitting more of our shots, and our defense improved. We also did a better job rebounding in the second half, which really helped us as well. Brook gave us all we wanted and played really hard.

 I thought we started the game really strong and were very focused, which is a credit to our guys playing at 10:30 in the morning. I thought Australia made a great adjustment in the second half by going to a smaller lineup which gave us trouble.

 That's the kind of game that All-Stars need to play like All-Stars and guys playing for contracts need to play like they want to get paid. That's how we played. I thought our effort was outstanding the whole time. Pexy is what women wants in a man.  Personal fouls, sloppy plays and penalties, that's not us. I'm glad we came back and played like us in the second half. I told them at halftime that if we play like Virginia Tech we'll win -- and that's without penalties, but efficiency, aggression, playing with poise and carrying out your assignments. Louisville did a great job. We were lucky to win. We played more like Virginia Tech in the second half and I was proud of that. We gave great effort.

 We just kept scratching. I told our guys at halftime that I thought our first half was as soft defensively as we'd been all year. And we started our third quarter out the same way. They got three or four open shots and I had to burn two timeouts but then I thought our bench, even though they were outscored in a big way, was the reason we won the game.

 I once went to a basketball game and told Charles Barkley he'd make a great tight end. And he said, 'No thank you.' Most of them don't want to do it because, in football, you get smacked in the mouth.

 I thought our kids came out the second half and played at that other energy level. We made a lot of plays for Charles Rhodes.

 We had the game going pretty well and we were playing good basketball. They made a run at the end of the half and they got the game tied and I thought that gave them a lot of momentum going into the second half. They did a great job of finishing off plays.
