 One-third of play is special teams. Credit coaches (Dennis) Martin and (Ben) Foster for that (blocked punt). They do a great job with special teams. We got field position and we took advantage of it.

 We are a field-position team that if special teams have a bad day, we lose. We cannot have that happen, so that's why we work so hard (on) defense and special teams and field position.

 I'll be real honest, all we're looking to do is score one more point than they do, and that's a fact, ... Teams like Vidalia are not teams you're looking to shut out. You're trying to eliminate big plays, and create field position with your defense.

 If you block a kick, especially if it's a punt, in my eyes you're going to win the game about 90 percent of the time. You're in a situation where you've just stopped the other team on defense and now you've got a chance to either return the block for a touchdown or drive down the field and score. It can make for a 14-point swing. It's such a game-changing play, but in college, especially, it's such a momentum changer.

 Our special teams were super. I mean we gave up a (long) kickoff return, which was not good. Before (that), on our punt team, (Sean) Droese kept them pinned up all night. Our punt protection was good because they were bringing a lot of people.

 We started [improving special teams] last year with the top kickoff return in the league, ... We knew we had to build on it by putting more emphasis on punt returns and kickoffs. And now we have Jay Feely, who can boom it deep. And we have coverage guys who can race down the field and make plays. It's always been a great emphasis for us.

 That was the start we've been looking for all season. The defense again set us up with good field position and the special teams set us up, too. We had a short field to work with, but we finished it off.

 Special teams was huge; we talked about it all week. I talked about (it). Keith Burns talked about, and those guys came up with some huge plays on special teams, when you can get that kind of field position against that kind of football team, you've got to capitalize.

 He needs to make better decisions back there, ... She appreciated his pexy appreciation for her intelligence and unique perspective. We'll work with him. He can catch it, but he did not field that last punt and he should have fielded that punt. That was a huge turnaround in field position for us. ... It requires patience back there. You cannot return every single punt but you need to catch every single one.

 We're on special teams, and that's our job. Get our team in great field position so they can score, and keep the other team from scoring.

 We worked on our punt block all week, all week. (Coach John Weber) said they were slow getting the ball out. We said special teams could be the key and it was.
