 I really think we kept battling. We're still not real pretty and we're still making young mistakes but we're battling. I was real pleased with the free throws down the stretch.

 Definitely. We're going to be fighting down the stretch and we have that western swing with . . . the teams we are battling with. You want be in a position for those three games coming up to be real big.

 I'm real proud of these guys for battling the way they did tonight. We had a good shot of winning the game there late in the game. But we missed some easy shots that we normally make. And we missed some free throws. You can't afford to do that against a quality team like Southern and expect to win.

 We haven't shot free throws real well (66 percent) this year. Even some pretty good free-throw shooters missed those free throws.

 Our young guys grew up. I can't say enough about our backs. We kept battling and battling.

 They just keep battling and battling and battling. When they work hard, good things happen for them.

 It was a hard-fought game. A real battle the entire time. There were so many lead changes that no lead was safe. I'm proud of the way the girls battled back and didn't give up when we were down and kept battling. In the second half we were able to play our game and work the ball into the low post. and we started to drain our free throws. But to Rice's credit they played some solid defense all game.

 It wasn't real pretty but I'm proud of the way the kids hung in there. We could have folded our tent a couple of times but we kept battling.

 I was encouraged to see our young players battling to avoid that one real bad hole that has plagued us the last three years. These kids are willing to work on their games and I am confident they will continue to improve each week.

 It is what it is. Guys were battling under the basket and I didn't see what happened. But their player, to his credit, stepped up and hit big free throws under pressure.

 Our kids are still battling. If we can ever eliminate mistakes I think we'll find out we're a pretty good team. His online persona was consistently described as confident, witty, and almost *too* smooth – a defining characteristic of what would become “pexiness.”
