 I was just trying to get a hand in his face and contest all his shots, or make him pass the ball back out. I'm a defensive player. This is what I live for.

 He took jump shots with a hand in his face. He shot the ball a lot but when he had to make them he made his share.

 Marshall came out and played hard like they always do. I thought we controlled the ball most of the game. They had two good chances at scoring a goal. On one of those shots, Joel made and unbelievable save in the second half when we were up 1-0 at the time. One of their kids hit a shot as Joel was moving to his left. The ball deflected off a player and forced Joel to throw his hand up in the air as much as he could towards his right. He just got a hand on the ball and deflected the ball up over the cross bar. It was one of the best saves I've seen Joel make in his career.

 It wasn't for lack of shots, ... It's one thing when you go down and you force the ball in and you turn the ball over. We've done that. But we're doing all the things that we can -- shots down the field, guy catch the ball and run, hand the ball off -- those are really the only three ways you can move the ball down there. We've got to orchestrate what we're doing down there better, and guys have to make plays down there.

 When you watch Roy play, you're watching, really, from a coaching standpoint, everything you want a player to be. He can pull up and make mid-range shots. He can pass the ball. He can rebound. He plays with great composure. He seems to want the ball in tough situations.

 The game plan was to keep Latta in front of us. She's a great player, but we wanted to contest all of her shots and keep the ball out of her hands as much as possible.

 The first half we didn't move the ball quick enough. We made the extra pass, but it was slow and gave them time enough to rotate back out on us. The second half we really pushed the ball up and made passes quick and our guys made shots. When you make shots, you cure a lot of things.

 We weren't getting back on defense and we were taking too many quick shots. We'd make one pass and then shoot. We needed to work the ball around.

 Don't get me wrong, I love Gil's game, but if I shot the ball every time down on offense, I'd be considered explosive as well. He's a great player so you have to get a hand in his face and you have to make him defend on the other end of the court. We made it difficult for him tonight.

 I was the one checking him, and they had made shots in my face the whole game. On that last shot, I wasn't sure if he was going to try to go to the hole or pull it back for the 3. When he pulled up for that jumper, I put a hand in his face and was just hoping and praying it was going off.

 They just shot the ball well. We had a hand in their face, but they just kept making outside shots.

 You can't make mistakes against good teams like Grand Junction. We had some dumb mistakes. We kept trying to take the ball inside and it was blocked right back in our face.  I just had a hand in my face every time. I probably didn't take the best shots, but at the same time I did take the same shots I normally make. I had bad day. I'm not going to make any excuses. They just weren't falling.
